week 2
[From the day you arrived on the planet, and blinking, stepped into the sun. There's more to see than can ever be seen, and more to do than can ever be done. Yet, still, the whole thing seems...monotonous. Surely there must be some excitement, some showmanship, some sort of plot twist that could keep this show moving onward?
Welcome to week 2, gents.]
SUNDAY
no subject
Maybe that's all she needed to reset, because reasonably early Sunday morning, she's in the kitchen, making herself a rolled omelette. A pretty blue ribbon hangs from the right side of her hair, tied in a loose bow, though it looks a little silly with her hair pulled back. So it won't get in her way? Probably. You might also catch her looking through the cabinets for something, rather determined.
It's laundry day, though she's not washing her school uniform, just some extra outfits. ...They're not really anything to write home about, honestly, looks like she's not great at putting together a good ensemble wardrobe. Some jackets, a less-than-fashionable sweater. Pleated skirts.
Throughout most of the day, she just flits around, a little idle. Sits in the lobby writing something on a clipboard in her lap, occasionally appearing a little confused.
Overall, her attitude's much better. A day of rest can do anyone good!

You're likely to find him in here, washing one article of clothing at a time. Yes. He is literally putting on one shirt, watching it go through the cycle, then putting it out to dry and putting another thing in. At least he's being careful with the detergents?]

To that end, you can find her in the costume shop in the morning, trying to sew... something. Something very lumpy and square. She tosses it across the room and whines.]
What am I supposed to do if I can't even sew a stupid cushion!?
[What indeed. Later in the day, she'll go back to the music room and try out the instruments again. At least the drum kit doesn't produce horrible noises if you don't know how to play it, generally.
When night approaches, Hime's in the ballroom twirling around in circles. She flops down onto the floor and stares up at the chandelier for a while.]
There's nothing to do.

However, as the days went on, the idea of staying here for a whole month just sounded... painful, for lack of a better term. It was to the point that he kept repeating the thought "just three more weeks"
He's going to spend most of Sunday either sitting at the Dinning room table or just lazily pacing the hallways of the opera house. In both instances he seems very deeply lost in thought, but occassionally he'll start asking questions like...]
You think they'll let us send letters back home if we ask?
[Or say something like...]
Gosh, I hope they do let us out once the month is over.
[This question is partially to himself, but definitely directed at you if you choose to repsond to it.]

Later in the afternoon Eliza has settled into the ballroom at the grand piano. She plinks out a short little introduction.]
Un deux trois quatre
Cinq six sept huit neuf.
[She quickly switches it up to something more lively, humming along as she plays with a soft, relaxed smile. She feels good today, better than she has in the past week.]

MONDAY
When Fashion Attacks Monday
This is our birthright...this is our shame. This is where we should be.
Let Me Out.
Then Astarte would wake up in her bed, on the floor, somewhere. Had it really only been minutes since she suddenly felt herself slip? Did...did she close her bedroom door? Is it open? Wasn't she going to--
No. It didn't matter. She's herself.
Monday is better, at least. For Astarte. Probably not so much for everyone else, namely because of the atrocity the girl would commit. The terrible, horrifying crime against civilization. The seeds of her actions were in the costume shop, where, early in the morning, one can find her readying for the terror that is to come.
The terror of Astarte being given full fashion autonomy for the first time.
First she'd flaunt it in the kitchen. She was incredibly hungry, and the three plates of food she made showed it. Seriously, what had been the last time since she'd eaten. Yesterday, right? Or..Satur...day...well, she's eating, now.
Later, for a few hours, she'll be in the ballroom, laying on the floor, staring at the ceiling. Its ok, she's not asleep, even if she has a pillow under her head. She'll even wave to anyone who comes over to talk to her.
Finally, she'll be in her room, with the door open, sitting at her vanity. Her room is...bare, aside from the clothing she's put on her rack. And her clothing is...well, whatever she liked. There's little coordination with colors or patterns. Not even close.
At least she's comfortable, and that's what matters.
Right?]

He received three items.
If you wish to find Raoul today, he will be in the lobby with these items. The meat pie he has left on a small end-table, with a note - it simply says that he got it from the booth and is not hungry, so the pie is free to whoever wants it. Truthfully, he was concerned that it was still warm when it came out, and does not trust whatever warming device the merchandise booth might have. The mask...is awkward, and strange, and makes the hair on the back of Raoul's neck stand on end, but he's keeping it, and the ukulele is in his hands as he lounges on a couch, strumming it idly. It's clear he doesn't know what he's doing, but it's always possible that a song could emerge and take form, if you were to chat with him.

Darla's spending the morning searching the costume shop for more clothes and any rolls of pink fabric. After that she spends some time dragging all of it to her dressing room.
Later on she's half decorated her space to how she likes it and winds up at the table in the dining hall. She has a few pens and paper from the storage closet and is drawing. Honestly, it's the most child-like she's been since she got here...]

Later on in the day he can be found in the dining room, where he's sitting with his legs propped up on the table. He looks very bored. He had said that a month wasn't a long time and it would be easy to wait it out, but... well. There's nothing to do. If the Pirate King notices you, he'll call you over.]
Say, what have you been doing to entertain yourself here?

He's awake early in the morning, as is his custom, and anyone up and about right around seven will find him in the dining room, evidently at prayer before that cross he set up. It does make him feel better, stopping there before he begins his day in yet another jail. At least one thing remains the same, from Paris to wherever they are.
It doesn't take long for him to be satisfied, and afterwards he retires to the kitchen for breakfast. He's becoming more adventerous with the new kitchen technology - today, he's apparently decided to make eggs.
A lot of eggs. There's a lot of people here, aren't there? And he is awake first.
There's not a lot to fill the days. Anyone passing through the east wing in the afternoon will find Valjean lingering in the hallway. He's not going anywhere, just pacing up and down. For some reason, he seems especially interested in the walls in this area.]

However, he did also get coins today, so he decided it would be a good opportunity to head to the lobby and see if he can get anything to escape with. Or at least something of use.
Frankly Seymour was a little disappointed with the results.]
I thought this thing would give you something more interesting than this...
[Perhaps "interesting" was a bad word for this. This stuff certainly was interesting, but nothing really useful.
He does seem a little interested in that meat pie though. Examining as if to check if it's poison just by sight.]

TUESDAY
MOTIVE: CAREFUL THE WISH YOU MAKE
An hour or so after show hours begin, something in the ceiling crackles to life. Apparently this place has an intercom system. Naturally, the Balladeer is the one using it. Perhaps it's the connection, but he sounds less enthusiastic than at his last public address.]
Hey, guys. Could you all do me a favor and meet in the lobby around noon? Got a quick announcement to make.
[From then until the meeting time, he won't answer the box office door. Maybe he wasn't even there, because once everyone is finally gathered together, the Balladeer enters from the east wing. You probably didn't see him down there if you came in that way, but he's there now. He’s balancing a thick, leather-bound tome in one hand, which he slams shut just as a bright peal of music starts from somewhere.]
Once upon a time!
In a lovely opera house
There was a little show
With a small cast of characters
[He is speaking, but the voice that sounds from...somewhere...in response to his words is definitely singing:] I wish…
And in this cast
More than anything… [That’s a second voice, from somewhere else. Maybe within the walls? The Balladeer isn't reacting to them.]
There was one actor - [The Balladeer gives Hans an extremely flat look as he brushes past.] - who thought that suggesting incentives for murder out loud was a brilliant idea!
More than life...
More than jewels…
Now, management heard this thought
I wish...
More than life…
And said to themselves
I wish…
"That's fantastic!"
More than anything...
More than the moon…
"This week, in addition to ending the show, we will grant one wish to anyone who successfully gets away with murder."
I wish...
More than life...
More than riches...
More than anything…
So, what’s your wildest dream? [He’s moved in front of the big double doors now, and they open as he steps backwards, still looking from one cast member to the next.] Because it could be yours this week, for a price.
I wish!
[All the voices cry out at once, just as the doors slam shut between the Balladeer and the cast, and then fall silent. The music goes with them.
Feel free to discuss amongst yourselves.]

I'M A FUGITIVE FROM THE LAW, AMA
Despite that happening, Valjean is hardly making himself scarce afterwards. He doesn't exactly linger to take questions, but he's following his ordinary habits. Dressing room hallway, one-person prompt, first come first serve~
...and doesn't get to exchange much, because it seems one of the items worries her. A shriveled severed hand? Yikes. With the other three items shoved in her pockets, she hurries to the dressing room hallway and doesn't seem like she'll be stopped for anything. Someone can probably flag her down before she gets to her room, to ask what the heck that thing is.
Later in the day, it seems she's calmed down some and hesitantly returns to the booth. She'll be in the lobby in the late afternoon, examining her findings. There's a giant French flag...? And an unfortunate poster...? And a puppet...?
...And a meat pie?
Why.]
At least this is somewhat interesting...
[And, before the kitchen closes, she'll make some of her favorite tea, sweet osmanthus. It seems like A Day to need some.]

WEDNESDAY

Wishes are wishes, and her own wish is almost impossible for anyone to grant but her. She can't fall for the trick, right? There's no way. And, in any case, after she put in the coins she got into the box at the merchandise booth, there was a hat and a poster in her room, when she woke up. Neither of them looked familiar, though when she unrolled the poster, it revealed itself to be for a performance at the Opera Populaire.
Now, where has she heard this before...
In any case. She's in the kitchen, eating cereal, poster leaned against the table, and hat in front of her. She would wear the hat, but it smells...weird. Like an animal, though she hasn't the faintest what kind it is. Its also pretty strong, so beware when you get near her. Its a bit stinky.]

I should take one of these to the ballroom!
[During midday she is in the kitchen making what looks like a giant sandwich.... she probably won't share because this girl loves sandwiches.
For once she's out at night, in the costume shop, trying her best to figure out how to use the sewing machine. Without much success. All the string is tangled and there might be slight puffs of smoke coming out of it. Oops?]

That feels like tragedy's at hand.
And though I'd like to stand by them,
Can't shake this feeling that I have
