WEEK 2
[From the day you arrived on the planet, and blinking, stepped into the sun. There's more to see than can ever be seen, and more to do than can ever be done. Yet, still, the whole thing seems...monotonous. Surely there must be some excitement, some showmanship, some sort of plot twist that could keep this show moving onward?

[Hime runs over and clasps her hands, then smiles up at D-ne.]

I was showing Jezebel how to make it last week! I bet yours is great.

[Seems she's used to making this enough that she can spare Hime a greeting smile.]

You're too kind, Hime-san. It's, ah, passable, I'm sure, edible.

People always say that about their own things.

Well, it's true. [Said simply, as she continues the dish.] I've already made a few mistakes. I can't do it perfectly, not at all.

If Yuuko were here, she'd say the feelings you put into your cooking are more important.

A friend of yours from home? Well, maybe. It might count for a little something.

Yuuko knows everything there is to know about food! I think. Either way, food is her most important thing, and she says it's because sharing it with people gives everyone happiness.

I've never heard that before. But then, I'm not a food expert.

Really! I thought food was just food, but to people who cook all the time, it's important to them.

Mm. What I know about food... [She turns off the stove top.] ...is that it's for eating.

...I prepared some steamed rice earlier. There's, ah, far too much for me to finish, if you would like to join me.

Really? Sure! Oh, I got something earlier, too.

Really.

[Let's just get all of this to the dining room, then, D-ne sweeps her omelette on to a plate and nods to a bowl covered with saran wrap. Sure enough, there's the steamed rice. If you could be so kind as to carry that, Hime.]

"Got something?" Just...what does that mean?

Out of the little booth! [She goes and picks up the rice to move it.] Well, I got a bunch of things, actually.

Is that so...? What did you get? Anything interesting?

All I'm keeping are a compact and a little flashlight, but I got this... [She sets the rice down on a dining cart and fishes a red ribbon out of her pocket.] It doesn't really go with my hair, but it would look a lot nicer on you, especially since you've already got a ribbon.

[Well it's time for D-ne to drop her breakfast! ...They are luckily close enough to a counter and the plate clatters on it. She rushes to the ribbon and takes it from Hime's hands.]

Th-this...?! You found it? You- Ohhh, it is, it's her ribbon! B-ko-chan's ribbon...!
