WEEK 2
[From the day you arrived on the planet, and blinking, stepped into the sun. There's more to see than can ever be seen, and more to do than can ever be done. Yet, still, the whole thing seems...monotonous. Surely there must be some excitement, some showmanship, some sort of plot twist that could keep this show moving onward?

Is there something else we use for hand washing clothes?

[He really doesn't know.]

I find this liquid to be quite viscous, and it does seem to work properly in the machine. It might work.

I don't know. I think there might be different kinds of detergent for hand washing but I don't know much about this kind of stuff.

[He's just going to start filling up the sink with hot water now.]

I guess I could talk to the Balladeer about it if these clothes get ruined?

[His solution to everything now is to suggest going to the Balladeer about it.]

I suppose that would be our best bet.

[He'll bring over the detergent though, it's what they have on hand, and it's been working fine in the machine.]

Though I do wish we had a little more agency in this place, if we must stay here.

Or at least our own bathrooms, I've been getting up at midnight just to take shower here.

[I mean...look he'd like his own private bathroom too but he'd sucked it up and made due, a man's gotta be clean.]

I find it much less difficult to keep a level gaze on faces and mind my own business.

[Honestly Seymour feels awkward taking his shirt in front of other people. It's less of a dick measuring contest thing and more of an "I-have-zero-self-esteem-for-anything-about-myself" issue.]

That's easy for you to say. You don't look like you've ever had to worry about what other people thought about you.

On the contrary, the life of a Viscount is heavily reliant on appearances and actions. I cannot tell you the amount of work I have done to become the man I am today.

[Lessons in so many things, constant etiquette minding, cultivating attentiveness...a lot goes into being a noble. Good thing he's honest on top of it.]

[A tiny part of him wants to point out that at least he has the advantage of being relatively notable and probably has money in the first place. But it's not a contest of who has to worry about themselves more.]

Maybe I just worry too much about what other people think of me?

Hm...well. That, I'm afraid, does not have an easy solution. I could tell you to simply grit your teeth and confront your fears, but we're in dire enough straights as it is.
