WEEK 2
[From the day you arrived on the planet, and blinking, stepped into the sun. There's more to see than can ever be seen, and more to do than can ever be done. Yet, still, the whole thing seems...monotonous. Surely there must be some excitement, some showmanship, some sort of plot twist that could keep this show moving onward?

[D-ne wants to smile, because that's just. what she does, she smiles, constantly.

...but not this time. She turns, almost to her room.] N- Natalie, hello, ah- I would love to talk, but, I'm in a...bit of a hurry right now...

[she says, while holding a goddamn hand.]

Yeah... For obvious reasons.

[she has so many questions.]

Okay, so, while we walk, you want to tell me where that came from? Because I have concerns.

[She sighs.]

I got it from the merchandise booth. [she thinks she hates that place] I didn't... This didn't belong to anyone here. It's not even human.

[robitussin]

[a pause]

So... You think there's a fireplace here?

[why is that her first idea]

A-ah, n-no, I- we can't- I don't think it's a good idea to destroy it, I really don't.

[in fact she holds it tighter]

So keeping the shriveled human hand is a better option?!

It's not human. [As if that'll help.] It's- it's... Natalie have...you ever heard of the Monkey's Paw?

Is it something I should know about? Because, gotta say, it's not ringing any bells.

No, I-I didn't think, but I had to check, it...

[She pauses and lowers her voice, and the look on her face is pained.]

I wasn't completely honest with you earlier today, and I...I'm sorry. But you have to understand if I...if I spoke up, especially after the Inspector dug into Valjean-san... I was afraid.

[robitussin]

...Okay, but what part weren't you entirely honest about?

I have had experience with things that grant wishes before. Specifically...this one. The Monkey's Paw.

[robitussin]

[she pauses]

Okay, first thing, please tell me you're not going to tell anyone else you have this.

Of course not, no! I was trying to get to my room so fast to hide it.

[robitussin]

[a slow nod]

Right, yes. Your room, that sounds like a good plan.

[Are they still walking and talking? 'sup room #10, D-ne's fumbling with her key.]

I-I've made wishes on it before and I- I don't know what would happen if it was destroyed, so...I have to keep it safe, but out of other hands.

[robitussin]

[she wants to ask what she wished for, but that's probably not the most important thing to discuss here.]

Are you sure it's the same one you had back home?

I'm very positive, as that booth's already had other things of mine. Besides, it's not something there can be more than one of, to my knowledge. Even though it... I'd only made two wishes, and apparently all five were used up...

[Which she can probably tell from the fingers and thumb all curled down.]

Excuse me, one moment.

[Into her small dressing room... D-ne doesn't bother to shut the door behind her. There's nothing to note, really, aside from something a foot tall covered in a blanket on her desk. She quickly wraps the Monkey's Paw in another item she'd gotten from the machine, a scarf, and slides it under her bed.]

[robitussin]

So... What do you think happened to it between when you saw it last and now?

[Natalie glances at the item covered in the blanket as she enters, and makes a point to as about it later.]

I... I don't know. I was pretty sure...the Paw works for just the person who it was given to, until the wishes are done.

[This prospect actually seems to disturb her more than comfort her.]

And... There is a theory we're missing some...time, isn't there?

[robitussin]

...Missing time? What do you mean?

[she skipped over the meeting, so she hasn't heard this.]

[She looks startled at the question.]

You didn't...? Oh! Oh, you weren't there last week! Raoul-san and Leach-san, both of them have, ah...injuries, they didn't remember getting. [winslow's are kind of obvious] They have been assured they aren't ones they've gotten here, and Seymour-san and Anna-san and- several others noted discrepancies as well.

[robitussin]

...You've gotta be kidding.

[She actually looks more unsettled by this than the revelation that they're here to murder each other. Priorities.]

[Oh... Oh you know, this is one of those times it might've been good to tattempt to break news like this a little easier, huh.]

I- I'm not, ah... But it may not be all of us! Perhaps it's, just that they're outliers, maybe.

[she's so not good at this]
