WEEK 2
[From the day you arrived on the planet, and blinking, stepped into the sun. There's more to see than can ever be seen, and more to do than can ever be done. Yet, still, the whole thing seems...monotonous. Surely there must be some excitement, some showmanship, some sort of plot twist that could keep this show moving onward?

That is an abysmal exaggeration of time. I'm sure it will merely take the day.

[Raoul you are washing one sock at a time]

Yes, because I was being 100% serious there.

[She rolls her eyes.]

Seriously, though. I think you'll live if you put in more than one thing.

[dechagny]

Well of course I will live, but I don't know how the clothes will fare. This is why I am being careful.

[robitussin]

From personal experience, they don't typically implode if you put in more than one piece of clothing at a time.

[dechagny]

...I meant, they may tear or be ruined.

[robitussin]

They won't, seriously. Take it from someone who's used one of these before.

[dechagny]

[He looks from Natalie to the washer, thinking it over...]

I suppose...trying it out couldn't hurt. It's not as if we are lacking in clothes.

[robitussin]

I know it's really scary, but I'm sure you can do it.

[Well when you put it like that, now he's got to try it. Raoul wastes no time in tossing a wad of shirts and pants into the washer.

I must inform you, Natalie, that the Viscount de Chagny fears nothing and no-one.

[she is forever rude. the ride never ends.]

Uh... Gotta say, on the slim chance that's actually true and not just bravado, that's kind of dumb. Like, there's a reason people get afraid? It's so we don't die in really stupid ways.

[dechagny]

There is also a reason for courage - to stand up against what might kill us and prove that it cannot!

[Putting a cap's worth of that neato detergent stuff in here, closing the lid, turning the knob...to the lowest setting. Which will not properly rinse all the clothes he's put in there.]

[robitussin]

Um, sure, but I didn't say courage is a bad thing. Just that never being scared isn't the best idea.

[She glances towards the washer.]

Also, you need to turn that up.

[dechagny]

- Ah! Of course. I knew that.

[He turns it up to its proper setting. Bless you, Natalie.]

[robitussin]

I'm sure you did.

[Glancing back at him after he's done.]

[dechagny]

1881. And I am learning very fast.

[Lies, he's learning at a moderate pace.]

[robitussin]

No need to get defensive, dude. But... Man, this must seem pretty weird to you.

[dechagny]

...It is.

[He stops for a moment and nods.] It is all an incredibly strange experience. If someone had asked me about such technological feats before coming here, I would have dismissed them as fantasy, but when I see them working in front of my very eyes I cannot deny them, but merely...work to understand them.

[robitussin]

Strange but also incredibly cool, right?

[dechagny]
