WEEK 2

[From the day you arrived on the planet, and blinking, stepped into the sun. There's more to see than can ever be seen, and more to do than can ever be done. Yet, still, the whole thing seems...monotonous. Surely there must be some excitement, some showmanship, some sort of plot twist that could keep this show moving onward?

[He inclines his head. He's not inclined to spend his time railing against the injustice of French society anymore (leave that to young revolutionaries) but if he thought it was fair he probably wouldn't have done any of the things he did]

I have made my peace with it, I suppose. I spent the last decade living quietly and raising my daughter - that is all I could have asked.

[Though...in truth, he hasn't really made peace with what's going on right now.]

When I thought about being arrested again before this, my greatest fear was that she would be left alone in the world. But now, that has already happened.

She doesn't have friends she could stay with or anything? I mean, you can't be the only person she knows.

I mean, it still basically sucks any way you look at it.

...I am afraid I have always kept the both of us too far apart from others. It would do her good to have more friends, but in my position, it is dangerous to become well-known.

[Unless you just end up being mayor of a whole town I guess?]

She can always return to the convent, where we used to live. But she does not wish to become a nun, and I can only think that she will grow unhappy there.
