Week Two
[Last week, no murder happened! Instead, a lot of students started work on Salieri's school play, which sounds pretty cool even though it's gonna be short, several people destroyed Bigfoot and got a few mysterious clues, and Orpheus started a fire in the kitchen! All in all, not a bad first week!
Though some people might have gone to talk to Hester, she hasn't made any more public announcements. There's some new papers posted up around the cafeteria, but it looks like it's just your upcoming lunch schedule. Seems like nothing's driving you towards Rule Five except, perhaps, all of the kidnapping and how criminally boring some of you are finding the school. Maybe the Balladeer is right, and you really can just wait this out? Only time will tell!]
Sunday | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday
(( No new locations this week, since y'all haven't paid in blood! Hester's office hours are still open, as are regains! Make sure to complete your first activity check by Tuesday! ))

WEDNESDAY

Come noon, though, the door will be unlocked and you can all come inside. Welcome to the Cryptid Host Club! Activities here include:
- Tea and sandwiches served at several small refreshment tables by a shadowy winged presence with huge, glowing red eyes that you only see in your peripheral vision. Don't worry, he's just shy.
- Therapy pets! They're jackalopes, but they are very soft and friendly. Maybe you all need these, after yesterday.
- Ballroom dancing lessons hosted by the Frogmen! They are bright green, hobbit-sized frog creatures in suits. You can try talking to them, but they only croak - and also they're extremely cute so don't be mean to them!
Have fun at your new random bizarre school club, guys! All of this will disappear by tomorrow - the things in the room within a couple hours, if no one stays at the club meeting longer than that, and anything carried out will be gone in the morning.]
(( Anyone who makes a toplevel that includes club attendance may also receive a random boon or sabotage! ))
THERAPY
The first thing that catches his eye is the Jackalopes. Salieri approaches them with a bit of caution, but once it becomes obvious that they're friendly and more than willing to be petted, he winds up eventually sat at one of the tables with a cup of tea, several sandwiches, and a Jackalope seated in his lap, getting white-brown fur all over his very black clothing. He seems unbothered by this, however, just...sitting and petting that rabbit-like creature and making sure he doesn't get poked by those horns]
no subject
Thank you!
[Later she does go to the ballroom dance lesson with a frogman, picking up the moves to the basic waltz very quickly.]
Hey! Do you want to give it a try with someone a little less green?

I don't know why The Wizard is doing all of this. [He's still going to die, according to the photo. No number of jackalopes and tea will fix it all.]

She smiles brightly, though, when she sees what the Frogmen are doing. They're almost like little children, size-wise.
So, she does a little curtsey in her dress, and offers her hand.]
Do you know the Viennese waltz?
[Once she and her partner are tired, she will be petting a jacklope, letting out a surprised little gasp when-]
Oh, it purrs like a cat! Here, come here...!

Sufficed to say, she never would have guess that she'd be sitting at a table in the band room, sipping a cup of tea handed to her by shadowy figures only visible in her peripheral, while some kind of... horned rabbit-thing snuggled into her lap. She's already deftly aware that no amount of washing will get the white fur out of her uniform.
Silently, she sets her cup down. Then,]
This is weird.
no subject
So, you come here often?
[Maybe a little more than one might expect.]
[The jackalopes get a bit more attention, if only because they inevitably start begging for food.]
Lump off, this is mine. ...I said lump OFF, I don't want anything to do with you losers.
[The stare-off continues for a few moments.]
[After which it's pretty easy to spot LSP attempting to abscond with a jackalope under each arm.]
Fine but I'm only doing this cause you look so lumping pathetic, you're not cute or anything.

He missed out on the club meeting last week, so he's interested to check it out.
And Immediately he zooms in on the jackalopes.]
Oh dear Neptune! You guys are the cutest things ever!
[He scoops up an arm full of them and cuddles them like his life depends on it.
Yeah this is just gonna be his whole day before the meeting, sometimes interrupted with a few cups of tea and sandwiches.
At least he's happy now!]

Later, she can be found with just one on her lap, as she coos and brushes its fur with her hand.]
That's right. You don't have to be afraid, Farrah's here... [It's oddly sweet. At least, it probably is if you don't hear what she's named the thing.] Good bunny, Stew. Good bunny.

Therapy
He's sitting somewhere with refreshments, eyeing the jackalopes everyone else is holding with equal parts curiosity and indifference. Nah, he doesn't need that. Not when he's petting the raccoon in his lap, who is absolutely soaking up all of his attention like a sponge.]

throughout the school + cryptid club
By Wednesday morning, she feels like death warmed over. There's a pit in the center of her stomach. She tries to tell herself it's a lie, but that only does so much. The least she can do is take care of her physical body. And this morning, she's noticed that her clothes are pretty dirty.
So after checking in with Orpheus, she heads to the costume room, and begins sorting through the clothes. It's slow going, though. She'll pause every so often to stare at her hands, or the wall, or nothing at all. In all honesty, she's not making much progress.
Eventually, she'll make her way over to cryptid club. For once, she doesn’t head over to the food immediately. Instead, she stays in the back of the room, watching everyone else interact with the creatures with a rather detached expression. Eventually, one of the jackanapes wanders over to her and nudges her with an antler. She leans down to give the creature a few gentle pats, and as she does so, she finally manages a very small smile. ]

[Elle gives Eurydice a gentle smile. Yesterday hadn't been great for most of them, but it seemed like this woman had it particularly bad.]

Meeting!
People who have never had to deal with other people's shit, probably. Couldn't be her.
The time on her self-made posters rolls around quickly, and as people amass in the cafeteria, Cassandra's already set up... Well, there isn't much. Mostly, she skims through a notebook in her hands, jotting down notes on the matter at hand. Its pages are already covered with a smattering of observations, and little doodles.
At the table she's seated at, there's also a plate stacked with cheese sandwiches. For in case the meeting runs long. She knows better than to expect it wouldn't.
The notebook is noisily shut. Cassandra regards the group, jaw set, tensed.]
Okay, people. So we know what the game is now; Hester and this "Wizard", whoever he is, both want us to live here for around two months. But now, they decided to offer us a reward if someone gets away with murder.
Which is why we're all here. I don't like it. So, the sooner we've escaped, the better. [She huffs, blowing strands of hair from her face.] We've all been here over a week now. If you have anything worth bringing up, now's the time to do it.
no subject
I've been trying to break the front doors ever since we got here, but nothing works. I'm not going to stop trying, but I've decided instead to work on trying to find different paths through this school. Maybe not even an exit, but other places we can't get to right now for whatever reason. I figure there has to be more than one entrance to this place, which would explain why the front isn't the only place blocked off.
If anyone comes across anything unusual like that, like blocked off passages we haven't seen yet, I'd like them to let me know so I can see what I can figure out.

As such, she's a little hard to pin down, as she seems to gather up her lunch in the cafeteria and immediately leave to go eat somewhere else. You might catch her as she's on her way to the weight room, one of the few places that people don't seem to frequent, or while she's eating, leaving the tater tots untouched.
Later, she pokes around at the concession stand, shoving some coins in the vending machine. Her haul doesn't leave her too impressed, and yes, that includes the deer skin. She regards it with incredibly thin lips and a glare before putting it aside, grumbling: ] Couldn't even clean it right, that's work for later.
[ Out of everything, the duct tape seems to be the only other item that meets her approval, after some experimenting with the razor leaves her to realize it's dull and plastic.
And, at night, she'll be in the gym, doing her routine of bleacher runs, strength exercises, and the like. It's where she's been every night, and it's where she'll continue to be, pushing herself ever harder. ]

He's not really sure what he's expecting out of Cryptid Club. Maybe some hint about what's going on, like what President Lincoln gave them? But it's hard to muster much enthusiasm, and he stands in the corner looking uncharacteristically wary and exhausted. The frog men don't seem dangerous, and neither do the little antlered hares? But that thing in the corner that he can't quite make out puts him on edge, and he carefully puts himself between it and Eurydice, no matter where either of them are in the room. ]

Later on, if you're walking through the lobby, you might notice the flashes of light before you notice Discord. But he's there, snapping his fingers over and over, with maybe just a hint of agitation.]
Come on, come on... Work, already!
[Eventually, he'll make his way to the Cryptid Club. He rolls his eyes a bit at the whole set up, the tea party, all that. He may just hold up one of those jackalopes, staring at it, unimpressed.]
Yes, fine, you're fluffy, but do you do anything?
[...And after a bit, he just sort of sits in a corner of the room. Sipping tea. Fine. It's not the worst.]

The cryptid club posters give him an idea, though, and so he spends a little time making leaflets of his own.]
[After hanging a couple of these up, one in the hall with the dorms and one in the cafeteria, he gathers the leather roll of tools that Salieri was kind enough to get for him, and sets up in front of the hair and makeup area of the costume room.
Around noon he decides to stick his head into the cryptid club meeting, in case it's anything like the last one and there's a monster that needs to get hit in the knees.
What he finds is...definitely not that, but it has tea, which he was going to go make anyway, so he stops in for a minute. After a moment, he feels something nibbling at his pantleg and he looks down and sees one of the jackalopes.]
Cheeky, are we? What if you got a little bit of a nibble, then?
[He takes out the cucumber from one of the sandwiches, scraping most of the mayo onto the plate, and bends down and holds it out. The jackalope jumps back at first, but then tentatively hops back up to Benjamin, and after a second of sniffing hastily snatches the cucumber from his hand.
After stopping in at the Cryptid Club, he goes to get some more substantial food (the turkey noodle, specifically), which he eats in the cafeteria.
Once he's finished eating, he returns to his improvised parlor and waits for new clientele, before going back to Ambassador dorm in the evening to rest.]

No. No. She'd do anything and everything for her little sister, but not at the cost of someone else's life. She'd offer up her own life before that happened.
She just. Needs to take her mind off of things for now. So she'll throw herself into this new set of activities they've been giving - meaning she'll be in and out of the Cryptid Club for most of the day. Initially she's just sort of playing with the jackalopes, looking rather charmed with how absolutely adorable they are. And gosh, it really is rather soothing, petting such a soft, calm creature...
Later, though, she'll tentatively approach the area where the Frogmen are offering dancing lessons. This... is still something she never really picked up, in the three years since her coronation. Maybe now's a good a time as any, to keep herself focused on anything but the threat looming over them?]
Do I... do I need to find someone to dance with? Or do one of you teach me...?
[That... just gets a croak in response. Elsa sighs. This is going to be difficult....]
