Week Two

[Last week, no murder happened! Instead, a lot of students started work on Salieri's school play, which sounds pretty cool even though it's gonna be short, several people destroyed Bigfoot and got a few mysterious clues, and Orpheus started a fire in the kitchen! All in all, not a bad first week!

Though some people might have gone to talk to Hester, she hasn't made any more public announcements. There's some new papers posted up around the cafeteria, but it looks like it's just your upcoming lunch schedule. Seems like nothing's driving you towards Rule Five except, perhaps, all of the kidnapping and how criminally boring some of you are finding the school. Maybe the Balladeer is right, and you really can just wait this out? Only time will tell!]

Yep! Bruiser's optima weight is about 5.5 pounds, but we've been giving him some extra treats so he's a bit closer to 6 pounds these days.

[A small look of sadness suddenly crosses Elle's face.]

I hope he's okay. We haven't ever been apart this long before.

Ah, so he is a mighty dog among his kind. [The Heavy Metal Chihuahua.] Has he people that can look after him when you are gone?

I'm sure the girls at the house are taking good care of him. He was sort of our unofficial mascot.

[Seeming to sense her sadness, another jackalope hopes over and rubs against her leg. Elle smiles and bends down to pet it's soft little head.]

He's such a good boy, but he gets so sad when I'm gone for more than a day or two.

[mcfife]

That is how animals are. I wonder if the space eagles I have rode as a youth miss me...

[The robots don't. Robots don't feel things.]

Space eagles?

[Congratulations, you have successfully distracted her from her melancholy]

Okay, hold up. How are space eagles different than normal eagles?

[mcfife]

It's simple! They're eagles that can fly in space! Through magic and robots, we can have them soar through the cosmos as if it were air.

[whatyouwant]

And they can still breath in space?

[mcfife]

Yup. It's important that anything with spaceflight capabilities grant its bearer the ability to breath. To do so otherwise would bring shame upon the creator.

[whatyouwant]

And it probably wouldn't be great to travel in.

[She giggles.]

[He likes Elle. She's got a sense of humor.]

How would we ever get anything done?

So what other worlds have you been to?

[mcfife]

Where do I start? I have battled on Mars [A brief flash of sadness crosses his face.], traveled to the moons of Jupiter, visited Alpha Centuri in person for a diplomatic meeting, and traveled to the sun. That's not to mention all the space stations I have lived in.

[whatyouwant]

The sun? [Elle doesn't know a lot about astronomy, but she's pretty sure that's impossible.]

Wasn't that...a little hot?

Yes, but I only flew near the corona. I was well protected.
