Week Two

[Last week, no murder happened! Instead, a lot of students started work on Salieri's school play, which sounds pretty cool even though it's gonna be short, several people destroyed Bigfoot and got a few mysterious clues, and Orpheus started a fire in the kitchen! All in all, not a bad first week!

Though some people might have gone to talk to Hester, she hasn't made any more public announcements. There's some new papers posted up around the cafeteria, but it looks like it's just your upcoming lunch schedule. Seems like nothing's driving you towards Rule Five except, perhaps, all of the kidnapping and how criminally boring some of you are finding the school. Maybe the Balladeer is right, and you really can just wait this out? Only time will tell!]

[Once people start leaving their dorms Thursday morning they might want to be careful where they touch their doors, lest their hands come back red.

Or blue, or pink, or purple. It looks like sometime in the night someone snuck out to with some scrap wood from the scene shop and paint to make signs attached to the dormitory doors, each color matching the color-coded uniforms. The names read, in handwritten but fancy script: Rodgers, Ambassador, Broadhurst and Longacre.

Congratulations! You now know the names of your dorms.]

[Maya's mostly been a creature of habit thus far. She sings in the choir room, dances in the dance studio, and eventually settles down with a meal in the early evening.

Sunday is... different. It marks a week since their arrival, and that sits uncomfortably in Maya's gut. Though she doesn't mind her routines, she... can't help but want to break them, just to see what might happen.

So she goes to the gym today, after rustling up a decent workout outfit. She runs laps around the court at first, and when that isn't enough, decides to run up and down the bleachers as well.

Still unsatisfied, she eventually makes her way to the scene shop. She rifles through until finds what she's looking for -- a sword. It's very clearly a prop, no actual damaging power, but it's enough for practice. She drags both this and a mannequin to the weight room and --

Well. The sound of sword play, or at least as much as there can be from a one-sided duel, follows. Maya throws herself into the motions, looking less like a dancer and more like a trained fighter -- though some of her flourishes are less by the book.]

[ Eurydice starts the week by waking up early! We admire her energy, honestly. First stop is Rodgers dorm, to make sure Orpheus is all right. Then, it's off to the kitchen with a stack of paper and a pen, doing her usual inventory.

For the remainder of the day, Eurydice will be scouring the school for hidden cameras. Unfortunately, she assumes these cameras are supposed to be larger than they actually are, and on her first sweep, doesn't find too many. So she heads to the scene shop to sketch the camera that she does know exists. If you catch her here, she'll hold up her (rather poorly drawn) sketch, and ask: ]

[Maya tilts her head.]

Nothing like that. Though if you think someone is watching us, you'd likely be looking for something smaller.]

[ Oh, good. Maya is a person who knows what she's talking about. ]

I would? But how does that work? Where does the film go?

[ Eurydice has so many questions ]

[ Orpheus trails along after her, eyes on the ceiling looking for bafflingly tiny cameras like the one the President pointed out. He's... not exactly known for being the most observant man in the world, though, so his contributions are a bit slim. ]

If they're filming us - someone has to collect the reels, right? If they can even fit film reels in something that small.

[ He frowns, trying to imagine it again. Maybe most of the mechanism is embedded in the ceiling itself? ]

[While Elisabeth is an emaciated noodle, she is also a tall noodle, so she nods as she looks at the paper, briefly eyeing the camera before she folds the paper and puts it in a pocket. Just in case.]

All right, I'm ready!

[ It's all right! By their powers combined they'll probably...find......something........ ]

Maybe they're using really small bits of film. Where do you think they'd hide them?

[ Eurydice climbs onto the lift and presses a button. It starts to move upward, and she white-knuckle grips the rails. ]

It moves!!

[ Eurydice looks a little panicked. She definitely did not expect this at all!!!!! ]

[She cracks a faint smile.]

No film. It's all digital. It... goes onto a chip, often barely larger than this -- [She points to her pinky nail.]

[ That was small, and fit a lot of information. Eurydice's eyes widen a little, like something's just clicked. ]

Let's try the dance room. Come on!

In the principal's office, maybe? That's where Miss Hester seems to spend all of her time. Maybe that's what she's doing in there. Watching us.

[ That's not a pleasant notion. Although it does beg the entirely irrelevant question - ]

Do you think that's where she sleeps? I've never seen her leave.

Exactly like that!

[She doesn't know what Eurydice expects to find in the dance room but... Maya follows anyway!]

[Ah! Not a steam powered elevator, or a mine shaft, but still an elevator of some kind!]

[ Janis... isn't exactly anti-social, but she continues to mostly keep to herself, if just because, well... that's what she's used to. It's always just her and...

... hm.

But now, a week in, she's gotten bored enough that she's just decided to increase the level of Art Chaos she's willing to make. So she's in the scene shop, just fucking. Grabbing some wood and power tools and the like. She has safety goggles and gloves on and she is on a mission.

It's just less than clear what that mission is as she gets started assembling.... Something. And if anyone comes in, she turns off whatever saw or drill she's working on and: ]

You need the space? I'm, uh, doing some sculpture work.

[ At least that explains the number of nails that have been hammered in?

Later on, she can be found in the costume shop, just sort of... looking through the bolts of fabric. ]

Alright, I vaguely know how to sew, what's the weirdest thing I could make...

[ ... yeah, she's hit the point of boredom. ]

Kitchen

[Here is Angus, searching high and low for any prepared meal that isn't a pizza, when he notices that he has an ally in the kitchen: Eurydice, The One that Got Away!

She has some things that certainly aren't usually used in a kitchen, but he jumps off the stool regardless.]

[He doesn't remember Mukuro's name either but.]

[This room is not really Discord's thing - even more so than the others - so he wouldn't be stopping by if not for those sounds. He can't pass by and not at least check it out.

And... Okay. You know what. The swordplay? He didn't see that one coming.]

See, now, this performance is already waaaay more exciting than the last.

[Maya hardly spares a glance toward Discord. She's in the midst of a complicated flurry, humming to herself even as she works.

Eventually, though, she does turn. She wipes the sweat from her brow before placing a hand on her hip.]
