Week One

[Yesterday, everyone woke up in a strange place and realized that they'd been kidnapped, and also that everyone else around them may or may not be kinnies? Wow, what a weird escalation of kin drama! Given what some people have seen of Spongebob's freaky arm thing, though, maybe it's not that at all?

Your Assistant Director, Hester, showed off her stuff and immediately had her life threatened by Lumpy Space Princess, who got her life threatened right back. Maybe you should keep that in mind if you decide to pay Hester any more visits! She won't be making another public appearance this week, but as promised, she'll be available for visits and consultation in the Principal's Office during business hours.

If you don't want to chat with Hester, there's always the school to explore! Some of you might also be receiving mysterious coins next to your bedside this week - those must be useful for something, right? There's lots to do, and you all seem like a group who can make your own fun, so enjoy your first week of school!]

[It's strangely quiet here. The past few months have been chaotic as hell, and now that the worst is behind, he is stuck in a boring school as a prisoner. There's nothing to read. Nothing to fight. No decent feast. But if he must fight The Wizard at some point in their escape, then he must train for that day.

Early morning sees Angus in the weight room, doing some warmups with the hand weights, then moving onto the benches. He stacks several heavy weights, lies down, then remembers:]

Anyone here wants to spot for me?

[After a shower, he heads over to the scene shop pouring over each tool. He's not a skilled craftsman, but maybe there's a computer hidden here. Or a secret passage behind the stacks of wood and supplies. Perhaps he will not find freedom, but a saw can help if they have to break through a fence. Angus keeps stacking power tools on one table, and he isn't anywhere near cleaning out the room.]

[Farrah gives him a side eye, then a single, very loud sigh.]

I dunno, you may be out of luck. Most of us are pretty...... puny.

Your best chance would be either Peregrine, or the other girl with the really long hair.

[mcfife]

The Empress?

[He rolls off the side of the bench and stands up.]

I shall invite them for my next session. Peregrine has proven to be quite a fighter! [Against a window.]

You must be Farrah. Your profile said that you lead a singing group.

You think I'm recommending the old lady spot you? [Farrah stares at him, kind of stunned-- but laughs when he mentions the group.]

Oh. Yeah. That's more of a joke, I'm the only member.

[There are lots of ladies around here, and Sissi was the first one with long hair that came to mind.]

But you sing regardless?

Scene Shop

[Varian isn't so bold as to make a claim on all of the power tools in the shop. Far from it. If he needs to use them, he always brings them back and puts them where they were, or at the very least works with them in the shop so they won't get misplaced. With the rules being what they are...it's a safety precaution as much a means to be able to get back to them if he ever needs to.

Needless to say, the sight of all of the tools being stacked up in one place makes him...wonder...]

Say, uhh...what are you planning to do with all of those?

[mcfife]

[And there goes a drill. Angus carefully slides it over a stack of rulers.]

I don't have a plan. [Said with complete confidence.] But they will prove useful once we find an escape route. Plus, we have an inventor in our midst. What can't we accomplish with artifacts of power and a skilled alchemist?

[alchemistake]

Pfff, oh, well...thank you. I mean, I have been working on some things...more ideas than actual plans, but you can't get anywhere without a few trips to the drawing board first.

[Varian eyes the tools in question though, bringing a hand to run down the side of his face.]

We miiight want to be careful about having too many of these tools out in the same place at once, though...they're really high powered, so one wrong push of a button and we'll have worse to worry about than getting out of here if somebody's in the way of it.

[mcfife]

[He looks at the tools.]

Any tool can be dangerous in the wrong hands. [The pile wobbles.] I swear that I will return them to their rightful places.

[Early morning workouts are the best. Elle is there as well and while her weights are much lighter than Angus', her form is flawless.]

Not sure I would be able to help much, but I'll try!

[mcfife]

[That's the spirit!]

Aaalright! Keep watch over the bar and make sure it is angled safely.

[He grips the metal rod and settles into position.]

ARE YOU READY?!

[She's watched Warner do this a few times. Sure, he didn't use as many weights, but it's probably the same!]

Let's do it!!

[mcfife]

Yeah!!

[He practically throws the overburdened barbell off its hook and above his head.

He did not prepare for the weight.

Angus's eyes grow wide while his arm muscles snap into a position to stop it from falling onto his ribcage.]

Weight room

[barberic]

[Benjamin is not entirely unfamiliar with this equipment. It's more modern than he's used to, but the idea is generally pretty easy to grasp.

He sets down the ten pound kettlebell that he's been using for curls, stands and comes over to loom watchfully.]

Alright, go ahead.

[mcfife]

[Good, the big man can save him in case the weight falls on him.]

I'm starting with 100 pounds. [Angus rubs his hands and grips the barbells, lifting them from their rack.]

[barberic]

[The big guy will try.

He stands there at the ready, not hovering his hands close enough to break Angus' focus, but still prepared in case 100 pounds is a bit more than the Scot can chew.]

[mcfife]

[Angus has no difficulty with the first few rounds of lifting, but he slows down after a minute and strains to bring it all the way back up.]

Scene Shop!

[Okay! The power tools are all in pretty good condition, for their part. They aren't exactly shiny or brand-new, but they're plenty serviceable. What are you looking for, exactly, and where?]

[mcfife]

[He's checking the walls where the tools were stored or that are covered by other shelves or stacks of wood. What better place to hide something that behind something heavy?]

[It looks like all this stuff has been here for a while; there's some dust build-up around the edges of the shelves against the wall and the like.

Between some of the stacks of wood, there's a stray mannequin. It's dressed in jeans and a hoodie.]

[mcfife]

[What is a mannequin doing in a room like this? He must investigate it! Angus is mainly checking out what's written or designed on the hoodie.]

[disharmonizes]

[Discord's just going to lean against the wall, looking over at Angus looking over all the tools.]

You know, if you're that interested in tools, you don't really need to come all the way out here. There's plenty all over the school.

[mcfife]

[Angus stops in his tracks, holding a screw drill.]

Where-

Oh. [He frowns at Discord.] You speak of our fellow captives so terribly!

[disharmonizes]

Oh, I certainly do. They just make it so easy, can you really blame me?

I could call Salieri in here, if you need a particularly great tool.

He is a skilled music creator. I would say he is among the most honorable among us.
