Week One

[Yesterday, everyone woke up in a strange place and realized that they'd been kidnapped, and also that everyone else around them may or may not be kinnies? Wow, what a weird escalation of kin drama! Given what some people have seen of Spongebob's freaky arm thing, though, maybe it's not that at all?

Your Assistant Director, Hester, showed off her stuff and immediately had her life threatened by Lumpy Space Princess, who got her life threatened right back. Maybe you should keep that in mind if you decide to pay Hester any more visits! She won't be making another public appearance this week, but as promised, she'll be available for visits and consultation in the Principal's Office during business hours.

If you don't want to chat with Hester, there's always the school to explore! Some of you might also be receiving mysterious coins next to your bedside this week - those must be useful for something, right? There's lots to do, and you all seem like a group who can make your own fun, so enjoy your first week of school!]

[Well that whole situation yesterday was fun, huh? Well despite everything, Spongebob is hardly concerned about this kidnapping and murder thing. He had a really hard time believing that anyone here would kill each other! All they need to do is stick together and surely everything will turn out fine.

Regardless of whenever your character wakes up on Monday, they’ll find that Spongebob is already in the kitchen, making a rather impressive breakfast of pancakes, bacon, eggs, and coffee.

If your character approaches him he will turn to them with an energy like it wasn’t painfully early in the morning.]

Good morning! How do you like your eggs?

[After breakfast, he spends a good chunk of the day actually exploring the school, since he hasn’t gotten an opportunity to do that yet. He feels particularly drawn to the Costume Room. He loves dress up and this room was practically like heaven to him! He tries on a variety of garish outfits for a few solid hours before finding this terrifying costume and he immediately puts it on, laughing in the mirror at the final result.]

It’s like a big me costume!

[At least someone's having fun.]

[Things the SQUIP normally doesn't have to deal with; the sensations of hunger and thirst. It isn't oblivious enough not to recognize the sensations and be able to associate them with the body's need for sustenance, but- look, it has better things to do, okay?

At least until the morning comes, and the physical needs of the body begin interfering with its ability to even think, much less sleep. Frustrated, and already feeling effects- its normally impeccable balance is stumbling, just a bit- when it smells food that makes the body's mouth water, it decides that clearly it should take advantage of whomever made a meal. By its deductions, that should be...

It stares at Spongebob for all of two seconds - an eternity, to it - then back towards the food. After another moment;]

Edible.

[Farrah's used to someone making her breakfast, but the fact that this is a way too chipper white guy doing it and not someone's housekeeper or overeager new stepmom is new. Only one thing to do:

haze him.]

Over-easy, on English muffins for eyes, with a bacon smile, orange-slice ears, and a creative nose.

[Waking up on Monday means that, unfortunately, this isn't a dream. She is, unfortunately, still dormed with a group of four men. She's careful to check on each of them before she leaves -- making sure they're still breathing and all that.

Other than that... She sees no sense in disturbing her routine. She stops in the costume room, tearing through piles of clothes until she finds a leotard that's at least close to her previous style.

From there, it's off to the dance studio. She spends... a lot of time in there. Like... a lot. After completing her morning stretches, she begins moving through her most recent routine. It's clear that she can move, and she doesn't seem to get tired, either.

By early afternoon, she seems satisfied, at least. She returns to the costume shop, grabbing a long sweater and some leggings. She also grabs a swath of fabric, and returns to the locker room to clean up.

Once she's dressed for the day and her hair is tied back with a makeshift ribbon, she heads to the choir room where she... practices some more. At least she's not leaping around. She warms up with scales, practices a few high notes, and then eventually pulls out a piano and some sheet music and follows whatever songs she can find.]

[Aaaaaand there is a scream. WHAT IS THAT-]

[Obviously having never experienced Buildings before, let alone rooms dedicated to practicing a specific task, Mumble has no idea what the significance of this particular crevice in the school is.

But - he at least knows dancing when he sees it. After awkwardly watching in the doorway, he shuffles in.]

You - you dance too?

[There is an Undeniable Joy in his face. Like, for the first time, he's found someone who might understand.]

[Well. Yesterday happened. There was a lot to process, and due to that Varian didn't sleep much at all, and that was only partly due to how high his bed is. It's fine. Who needs sleep when there's work to be done? Because Varian has already resolved to do something, so as soon as it's late enough for everyont to do so, Varian rifles through the desk to grab some paper and a pencil and will be out for most of the morning.

So where is he? He can be found in various locations, starting with the Lobby at the front doors. He's sitting on the ground in front of them, using a measuring tape he pilfered from the costume room to measure the dimensions of the door, and various other things...taking as much information down as he can while he's still here.

Later, he'll go to the Scene Shop, absolutely full of various supplies he could use if he can come up with a rough idea of some schematics for them. Actually what he'd be making is a different story entirely, but that's why he's spending today doing some recon for that very purpose. The power tools in particular he's noting the location of, though there's no reason to take any of them just now. If he needs to build something, it makes more sense to take the project here instead of elsewhere anyway. He's...also examining the mechanical lift in very close detail, circling it, crouching beside it, mumbling things and writing them down. Either he's never seen one, or he's planning on seeing if he can take it apart for spare parts for his own use at some point. You know, normal teenage stuff.

Later in the evening he retreats to Broadhurst, but the door is left ajar so anyone can just wander by if they're curious. Varian's taking advantage of his precarious position at the top bunk, using some tacks from the Costume Room to pin up a whole host of elaborate sketches he's already put together on several different sheets of paper on the walls up against his bed, even a few on the ceiling if he can reach it, all of them fitting together to make up...well, it's hard to tell. It looks like it's still in early stages, mostly Varian throwing anything at the wall and seeing what sticks.]

You already have a plan of action.

[It isn't a question - nor a greeting. But yeah, the SQUIP is there, possibly having been there for a few minutes watching Varian do his investigation of the lift.

'sup, kiddo ~~wanna buy some tic tacs~~]

[Angus needs new clothes to train in. The leather armor will work in an actual fight, but he doesn't want to ruin it while exploring the school. The clothing here is more decorative than practical, but he has to find something eventually.

He turns around at Spongebob's exclamation and - hm.]

It does kind of look like you!

[Sometime in the late afternoon or early evening, Maya enters the kitchen. She isn't as adept at cooking as her friends but... She does manage to chase down a potato or two. They're nothing too elaborate, but she does season the skins nicely and bake it to perfection.

When she finishes, she brings the plate to Rodgers dorm and knocks on the door.]

Wells-san?

[While Maya is used to being watched while performing, it's usually her female classmates. It's strange, having male eyes on her, though she doesn't let it phase her.

When she finishes her routine, she turns to Mumble and nods. At least he has a proper respect for the arts.]

I think I learned to dance before I learned to walk.

[LSP is here because she needs a new knife. Or knives, because Spongebob will absolutely see her emptying a knifeblock and stashing the contents inside her uniform jacket.]

[And spinning and brandishing one, startled, when he asks about breakfast.]

I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING oh hey, it's the yellow nerd guy. What about eggs?

[!!!!]

Me too! [Oh, he's excited now.] Well, it's more like, Pa said I was dancing right out of the egg.

[Like a normal human person.]

I've never met anyone else who dances before, I thought it was just, y'know, me.

[With that, his face falls a little bit.]

Do you...usually dance alone?

[Salieri was just planning on making himself some tea but...well. He didn't expect this exactly.

He blinks as he's addressed]

Pardon? [oh wait, yes, eggs] Oh, well...over easy is fine, thank you.

[Salieri has been doing some exploring himself for the day, but the sound of singing as he passes by the choir room grabs his attention. It's a pleasant tone, to be sure, and someone certainly of talent. Naturally, as a composer of vocal music, he must investigate.

Salieri will gently rap his knuckles on the door during a break in the singing. He's not rude enough to interrupt in the middle of a phrase, of course.]

[ Truth be told, Orpheus is torn between being really impressed and sort of nervous by seeing all the food this man - Sponge Bob, Miss Hester called him? - is making laid out like this. It seems like a lot for, what, twenty people or so? And while he'd seen a pretty good supply of food in the kitchen while exploring earlier, they don't know how long they're going to be here. But Sponge Bob seems to be having such a good time, he doesn't have the heart to ask him out and out about rationing yet. ]

Actually, can I have these pancakes? [ he asks, pointing to a stack. ] Or are they for someone else?

[Varian hasn't checked back in with Maya since...what happened on Monday, so he's hard pressed to pass up that chance when he comes across her in the costume room while he's grabbing some supplies for himself. A few thumbtacks and some measuring tape, more than a bit different compared to the leotard she picks up.

Varian returns to a stand just in time for one of the articles of clothing she tossed to slap him right in the face. He stands there for a moment, huffing, but takes it in stride as he pulls it off with a weak chuckle.]

[Salieri's returning from his exploration and whatever else he's been doing for the day to find the walls near his bunk a lot more...decorated. He pauses, observing Varian tacking things up on the wall, folding his arms over his chest and leaning against the opposite wall.

After a moment of observation, he speaks up]

Do be careful not to fall this time. One time of being an unwitting cushion was enough for me, and I shan't do it again. [said with a bit of dry humor, arching an eyebrow]

[Wow. Spongebob sure has been busy...but Varian had only popped in here to grab something quick to eat. He'll grab a strip of bacon that's unattended unless he's stopped (which is NOT enough for breakfast but okay, Varian), but he will pause long enough to eye the huge spread Spongebob has put out.]

Oh- thanks, but I don't have time for...woah. Did you make all of this by yourself?
