Week One

[Yesterday, everyone woke up in a strange place and realized that they'd been kidnapped, and also that everyone else around them may or may not be kinnies? Wow, what a weird escalation of kin drama! Given what some people have seen of Spongebob's freaky arm thing, though, maybe it's not that at all?

Your Assistant Director, Hester, showed off her stuff and immediately had her life threatened by Lumpy Space Princess, who got her life threatened right back. Maybe you should keep that in mind if you decide to pay Hester any more visits! She won't be making another public appearance this week, but as promised, she'll be available for visits and consultation in the Principal's Office during business hours.

If you don't want to chat with Hester, there's always the school to explore! Some of you might also be receiving mysterious coins next to your bedside this week - those must be useful for something, right? There's lots to do, and you all seem like a group who can make your own fun, so enjoy your first week of school!]

Any tool can be dangerous in the wrong hands. [The pile wobbles.] I swear that I will return them to their rightful places.

Yeah, good idea. Kindof still surprised they even have all of these just out here for us to use, but I guess they don't think we can actually use them to get out.

I hope that they simply underestimate us. We have been given a lot of freedom already and we must use it as best as we can.

[Actually, he should take off a few big tools and set them onto a new pile. This doesn't look stable.]

Do you think you can build a battering ram or some sort of device with these supplies?

[alchemistake]

[YEAH the last thing they need is to drop all these tools on the floor...]

A battering ram? That's all?

[Varian laughs, rubbing a thumb under his nose.]

Give me a day, I'd have it done before dinnertime.

[It's not going to WORK of course...but he'd be able to build it easily.]

You will?! That's incredible!

[He swings the nail gun around in amazement. Watch out!]

[ANGUS FOR GOD'S SAKE-]

Wh- c-careful, with that!

[Varian reaches out to just- take Angus's wrist in hand so he can very carefully guide it so the gun...isn't pointing at him. This is how accidents happen Angus, the last thing you want is to accidentally do a murder on a peace week.]

...Anyway. If I'm going to get this made, I'm going to need a lot of supplies. Tools from this shop, too.

[...he reaches out to actually take the nail gun from Angus, thinking on it.]

This'll work, actually.

[His grip loosens, and carefully, slowly, he lets it rest on the table. Yes, that's where it belongs.]

Will you need help? I'm afraid I am no inventor, but give me directions and I will do what needs to be done.

[Help? Hm...]

Well...depending on how big we want this thing, it shouldn't be too difficult to just build from whatever wood and parts are laying around in here. Maybe I can make a few handles to make it easier to lift and carry...

[He looks out at the rest of the scene shop.]

If you could help bring me supplies like that, I'd really appreciate it.

[mcfife]

Of course, Varien. [He briefly rests a fist above his heart, then realizes -]

What is it, exactly that you require?

[alchemistake]

Wood. Lots of wood. And any stray pieces of metal you can find. Oh, and some nails. Screws will work fine too if you can't find any of those.

[mcfife]

Well, there is lots of wood in the back...

[He needs to clear it out anyway if he is to find secrets.]

Wait here. I'll be back! [Metal and wood - easy quest! The nails are stored in clearly labeled drawers, and with each trip, Angus provides the plywood and thing metal connections that will form the basis of a grand tool!] What are you thinking to build?

[alchemistake]

Well, if I'm going to be making a battering ram, I need to make some sort of stand for it to rest on inbetween uses. Probably not necessary, but it's likely going to be heavy. Don't want to risk dropping something like that on your feet if you get too tired of holding it up.

[He explains, looking over the parts that Angus has brought back to him.]

The battering ram will be mostly metal after all, with wooden parts to hold it together.

[mcfife]

[Nod, nod. Angus probably gets it. Metal is pretty powerful.]

We'll need more metal than wood. [He holds up a handful of screws.] Much more than what I found.

[alchemistake]

Yeah. Don't worry though, it doesn't have to be finished all in one day. Not like that door is going anywhere any time soon.

[Sigh...]

If I had access to my chemicals we'd have more options, but this is just going to have to do for now.
