Week One

[Yesterday, everyone woke up in a strange place and realized that they'd been kidnapped, and also that everyone else around them may or may not be kinnies? Wow, what a weird escalation of kin drama! Given what some people have seen of Spongebob's freaky arm thing, though, maybe it's not that at all?

Your Assistant Director, Hester, showed off her stuff and immediately had her life threatened by Lumpy Space Princess, who got her life threatened right back. Maybe you should keep that in mind if you decide to pay Hester any more visits! She won't be making another public appearance this week, but as promised, she'll be available for visits and consultation in the Principal's Office during business hours.

If you don't want to chat with Hester, there's always the school to explore! Some of you might also be receiving mysterious coins next to your bedside this week - those must be useful for something, right? There's lots to do, and you all seem like a group who can make your own fun, so enjoy your first week of school!]

Angus McFife the Thirteenth. [While seated, he gives her a bow.] I come from the kingdom of Fife, though one here has referred to the land as Scotland. It may have a different name in your universe.

Very nice to meet you! I'm from the sunny land of Malibu, California.

[Elle gives a small curtsy at the bow.]

You don't really sound Scotish, but maybe it's different where you come from.

I would think I sound Scottish. [With a Swiss accent.] But California? I know your king in my universe!

Woah, a king? The closest we got was the Terminator for Governor. Is he cool?

[To be fair, he is a Schwarzenegger expy.]

Very! The Hootsman fought along my ancestor in battle one thousand years ago as the barbarian warrior of Unst, and he was shortly crowned king afterward. It was later that he became a cyborg and eventually conquered California. Then he became an actor.

[It's Scottish Arnold.]

For now, I am happy that he did not die as I had thought only days ago. I think becoming a demigod after sacrificing yourself is a fitting reward!

Oh hey, our governor was an actor who played a cyborg before he got into politics!

[Elle makes the connection without actually making the connection.]

So your world has, like, gods and stuff too? [She remembers her convorsation with Orpheus, how he was raised by a god. The worlds these people come from make Malibu seem downright boring in comparison!]

Perhaps our dimensions have more similarities than others...

[Some of the details are mixed around, but if the governor is from Unst, it would be a welcome familiarity.]

Of course gods exist! Who else can bestow magical artifacts and create magic?

We don't have magic on my world. At least as far as I know.

You don't have magic? Then...what do you do when you have to fly somewhere? How do you power spacecraft?

We have airplanes and...jet fuel? I'm not a scientist, so I'm not sure the specifics.

[How is this the second time she's had to explain science to someone since coming here. Surely someone else here is from a normal world?]

[mcfife]

Airplanes and all other flying vessels use jet fuel? [That's close to normal!] Perhaps you have more similarities to my universe that everyone else! Of course, regular fuel only gets you so far. It might not be easy to travel to other planets like that.

[whatyouwant]

We haven't actually made it to other planets yet. I think they're working to get someone on Mars?

[mcfife]

That is not too far.

We could move entire armies onto the red planet in a matter of days.

[whatyouwant]

That sounds soo cool. I guess that's the perk of having magic.

[mcfife]

It is! Watching stars speed past you as you travel across a galaxy is a beautiful thing. You haven't lived until you see the entirety of Earth all at one.

I've seen pictures taken from the space station and stuff, I can't imagine how beautiful it would be in person.

[mcfife]

Oh, it's gorgeous. If I had an easy way to travel across timelines, I would bring you to my universe for a trip across the solar system.

Well it has to be somewhat possible. The Wizard dude brought us all here, after all.

Oh! Maybe after we get out of here I can figure out a way to visit you!

[mcfife]

I can ask Ralathor on how to use The Wizard's dimension-hopping artifact, and we will be set. [That guy always knows the answers.] And perhaps...I can return to my home dimension.
