Okay, you guys. So, we're all scared, but we're all still here. And now we know we're not alone. For our sake, and...for theirs, let's see what we've learned what we can figure out. ...We're not gonna have another repeat. Not again.

Alright. Let's start by talking about what we've found.

I'll go first. So... Getting out through the woods is a bust. It's like The Blair Witch Project out there, we marked out way, we followed the sun to keep from getting lost, but we came out in the garden no matter how many directions we went in. Basically we're stuck.

He's got space warping magic, too? How is that related to being a wizard of Order?

[A sigh. Sad, but not unexpected.]

It's not just the woods. I had Owl scout around up in the sky. We're surrounded by some kind of void. The road, the corn, it all eventually leads to the same... darkness.

I talked to Hester after...after everything on Friday. Considering everything... She seems to be a key piece of the puzzle, and... [ Where does she fucking start. Peregrine takes a breath. ] Hester met the Wizard after graduating high school. She didn't have anyone else, she was a foster kid. Never met her mom, no one even knew who her dad was.

They were...both traveling on a train and they got to talking about...just, life. Interests, traveling, stuff like that. When the train made a stop, she got off with him, to stretch her legs and get something to eat but— but it wasn't a train station.

The train stopped at a Denny's. No one seemed to think it was weird except her! The Wizard, he started doing like...real magic. Like real magic, and it sounds like to her, like me, that's a pretty big deal. They were sitting there and talking and— and I asked her, how'd she get from that to here, and she started to answer me, but...

But then she couldn't.

She stopped talking, like...not like she couldn't remember, but like she couldn't put it to words. And then she just... She collapsed. [ Peregrine rubs at her temples. ] It was a migraine. She said she got them before. She couldn't say what before was. I don't... I don't know. When I touched her, she...she was so warm. Like, feverish. She said it's cause she doesn't sleep. Like, rarely, she gets weird dreams, where something's always a little off and her body wakes her up and...she can't sleep.

[ She shrugs, helpless. ]

...I think the Wizard's doing something to her. I think... I don't know. But I think...she might be the way to get to him.

When we met up... after the first execution, I think it was... She was very unsteady on her feet. Less composed than usual.

Yeesh, talk about gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss, Wizard, what the fuck?

[ She thinks for a moment. ]

Real magic... that might be narrator stuff. Un- The Balladeer taught me a couple things like that, and they'd be super impressive to someone who doesn't know about narrators.

I asked her if she needed help. She assured me that she didn't, but I made sure that she knew the option was open, if she needed us.

[It feels weirdly personal, the tone he takes when he continues:]

Men like him won't hesitate to throw away a young lady he claims to care about, when his hold over her is threatened. Whatever happens, we can't put her at risk.

[Angus pulls out his conspiracy board fashioned from plywood and yarn listed with names from this round, round 2 (though one of the participants is listed as "Ariel"), various locations, and ideas thrown out at precious meetings.]

I'm becoming more certain that some of us were taken as retaliation for those of us escaping The Phantom.

In the band room, I found more messages along the lines of whether anyone could hear them, asking to be listened to. In the choir room, there were five "x"s on the bottoms of some chairs. I left some messages of my own, as hidden as I could make them--I'm going back later today to see if there's any change.

I couldn't get anything from the locked door by the gymnasium, either. It looked just as wooden as any other door, but even swinging as hard as I could with a crowbar, I wasn't able to leave a single scratch on it.

[ Janis waits until some other people have gone, but. She does speak up eventually. ]

So... the night that we... broke into the stage, I learned that I can kind of. Oh god, the only thing that comes to mind is I can vibe check things? Like... tell emotions and stuff, if I try. I don't know if the Wizard knows I can do that or not, but... I want to try to use it on some stuff around here. Not too much, so hopefully he doesn't notice I'm doing it, but... any suggestions where to check?

I don't really know if it means anything, but it might be worth mentioning that the strange machine in the cafeteria isn't plugged in. Or, the ones with just food and drinks in them are? But not the one that the coins that keep appearing by our beds go to. It might just be nothing, but I thought it was strange.

...And on top of all that, we got ghosts. [ OKAY BUT SHE ACTUALLY SOUNDS. PLEASED ABOUT THIS— ] Was- did everyone get a good look at all that the other night? I'm trying to see what I can do about...other ways to contact them, but...well, any suggestions would be great.

I don't know that this matters to anyone else here but... [She glances toward Angus for a moment.]

I remembered something from my past. But it wasn't -- my past. I don't know if I was meant to remember it at all. I experienced the same thing, several times over. The same event, again and again.

Janis helped me put the pieces together. Nana... won our Revues originally, I think. And she kept going back in time. Repeating our performance of Starlight.

Given his own desire to go back in time... I think the Wizard might have sought to use her. Maybe he succeeded, or maybe she had to hide away.

[The boys' bathroom is not a large room. Filled with people, it's also a very noisy room. But the thing about public bathrooms is they are very echo-y. Voices and all other noises carry very easily.

It's hard to hear at first if you're not paying attention but if someone were to be, say, standing guard by the door they'd surely hear something quietly rattling on the other side.]
