I'll go first. So... Getting out through the woods is a bust. It's like The Blair Witch Project out there, we marked out way, we followed the sun to keep from getting lost, but we came out in the garden no matter how many directions we went in. Basically we're stuck.

I talked to Hester after...after everything on Friday. Considering everything... She seems to be a key piece of the puzzle, and... [ Where does she fucking start. Peregrine takes a breath. ] Hester met the Wizard after graduating high school. She didn't have anyone else, she was a foster kid. Never met her mom, no one even knew who her dad was.

They were...both traveling on a train and they got to talking about...just, life. Interests, traveling, stuff like that. When the train made a stop, she got off with him, to stretch her legs and get something to eat but— but it wasn't a train station.

The train stopped at a Denny's. No one seemed to think it was weird except her! The Wizard, he started doing like...real magic. Like real magic, and it sounds like to her, like me, that's a pretty big deal. They were sitting there and talking and— and I asked her, how'd she get from that to here, and she started to answer me, but...

But then she couldn't.

She stopped talking, like...not like she couldn't remember, but like she couldn't put it to words. And then she just... She collapsed. [ Peregrine rubs at her temples. ] It was a migraine. She said she got them before. She couldn't say what before was. I don't... I don't know. When I touched her, she...she was so warm. Like, feverish. She said it's cause she doesn't sleep. Like, rarely, she gets weird dreams, where something's always a little off and her body wakes her up and...she can't sleep.

[ She shrugs, helpless. ]

...I think the Wizard's doing something to her. I think... I don't know. But I think...she might be the way to get to him.

When we met up... after the first execution, I think it was... She was very unsteady on her feet. Less composed than usual.

Maybe she's sick. Maybe the Wizard isn't doing something to her, but— but the way she looked...she wanted to tell me. But she couldn't. That doesn't sound like just being sick to me.

He's got space warping magic, too? How is that related to being a wizard of Order?

[Angus pulls out his conspiracy board fashioned from plywood and yarn listed with names from this round, round 2 (though one of the participants is listed as "Ariel"), various locations, and ideas thrown out at precious meetings.]

I'm becoming more certain that some of us were taken as retaliation for those of us escaping The Phantom.

[ Peregrine shrugs. ]

I don't know... I'm— I'm not as confident in...navigating the woods as I used to be, but... I know we weren't going toward the garden. We were hiking for hours, and hours, and...

[Farrah does a little shimmy as she sits up straighter.]

So-- I think we should clear some things up, so we don't have any missing persons again, like this morning.

In the band room, I found more messages along the lines of whether anyone could hear them, asking to be listened to. In the choir room, there were five "x"s on the bottoms of some chairs. I left some messages of my own, as hidden as I could make them--I'm going back later today to see if there's any change.

Oh, did we have a little morning mystery? I didn't even see any missing person posters, what a waste.

We solved the mystery before there was a chance. But a certain duo was nowhere to be found this morning, and I realized--

If we're really in this together, I need to know whose with who! Apparently Maya has two girlfriends! And Angus and Elle are sneaking off to the rooftop together! We need to figure this out!

[You absolute chaos child. He props his chin on his hand, giving her an amused look]

I don't know that this matters to anyone else here but... [She glances toward Angus for a moment.]

I remembered something from my past. But it wasn't -- my past. I don't know if I was meant to remember it at all. I experienced the same thing, several times over. The same event, again and again.

Janis helped me put the pieces together. Nana... won our Revues originally, I think. And she kept going back in time. Repeating our performance of Starlight.

Given his own desire to go back in time... I think the Wizard might have sought to use her. Maybe he succeeded, or maybe she had to hide away.
