Week Three

[Last week, some shit went down! Salieri's scene went off without a hitch, but the good mood didn't last. The first motive was a bit of a doozy, and yet it didn't even have anything to do with the eventual accidental death of Mumble Happyfeet! At least Sissi was already pretty much dating Death anyway, right? She's probably fine, wherever she is.

This week, new menus have been posted in the cafeteria. But, more importantly, it seems that other new information has emerged. Everyone wakes on Sunday with some new memories - or are they old ones? - floating around in their heads. Maybe there was something to your discussions of time travel after all. Maybe there was someting to the Wizard's knowledge of the future.

Regardless, you're still stuck in here. At least there's some new places to explore this week. Maybe you'll find something helpful.]

Investigation? (sorta)

[When Spongebob wakes up in the morning in the Rodger's Dorm, he is unusually chipper. Like nothing that happened yesterday actually happened. Sure, he seems a little confused, but doesn't he always?]

... Huh! I had the weirdest dream last night where I saw Mumble's dead body and we all had to kill Sissi because she accidentally assisted in his death.

[Pause.]

And then I had a dream that Hester's motive was right and that my town was gonna get destroyed by a volcano. Weird, huh?

[Who's gonna tell him.

After his inevitable screaming session, he decides that he should still actually, you know, face the day. He had intention to make everyone breakfast like normal. But then he sees that the West Hall is now open.

... Well... no one will miss him if he's only a few seconds late, right? Especially when he's doing some investigation.

Unfortunately for everyone, he is a lot more than a few seconds late, as the moment he finds the Library he instantly falls in love with the place. After going to the Lounge for some snacks and tea he finds a cozy spot to read a stack of books he's found in the library, mostly fiction and comic books.

He does eventually notice the videos and decides to root through them all, playing just about anything interesting he finds. Regardless of what he does find, he's gonna settle down into a nice Magic School Bus marathon. So feel free to join him and learn about science!]

[Farrah's walking through the library once she feels a little better, when she spots Spongebob with the magic schoolbus--- and she immediately turns on her heel and leaves.

She comes back five minutes later with her blanket from her bed worn over her head like a cool cloak, clutching both her pillow, and one she's snagged from the nurse's office. And she gets real comfy on the floor.]

Please tell me this is the episode where they go into the kids nose like a giant yellow flying booger.

[That genuinely sounds super nice right now.]

Oh but you've seen this show? I'm jealous! This is really fun so far! I never knew human bodies were so weird!

[It is in fact the episode where they go inside Arnold's body.]

[Farrah pats next to her, and opens the arm of her blanket-cape to invite him in with her. This should be a little creepy, because he's totes a grown man, but she's fully accepted that this dude's somehow... really spongebob squarepants, beloved cartoon mascot of her childhood. It's less ridiculous than the idea that Riley Williams murdered her.]

Yeah-- we got to watch it in school sometimes, if it was storming outside, or if we were in science class.

They're super weird. And gross.

[Spongebob perks up and grabs his snacks to share with Farrah while huddled under the blanket. Sharing is caring after all!

He laughs lightly at the comment.]

I think we could really use something a little weird and gross right now! If you ask me, nothing help out a sad soul quite like a funny cartoon.

[Farrah fluffs the pillows up to share, and settles in with the snacks, grateful. When Spongebob speaks up, she can't help but laugh-- and she smiles, for what may be the first time that day.]

You're right. Nothing helps out a sad soul like a funny cartoon. [And he's helping her.]

Library

[Varian had been looking at some of the volumes in the Library, making mental notes on some things he might want to take for himself for a bit for evening reading when he isn't overloading himself on work. He hears the sound of someone talking past one of the shelves, though, and...it doesn't sound like any voice he recognizes, which is alarming for more than one reason.

He's quick to come skidding into view, only to see Spongebob sitting in on eof the corners watching the Magic School Bus. And while that on it's own should pique Varian's interest, it's what he's seeing in general that's left him speechless.]

What...is that?

[Spongbob waves at Varian as he takes a break from eating a giant back of chips.]

I think it's called the Magic School Bus? It's a really fun cartoon!

Magic- no, not that- well, yes that, but that's my second question-

[What's a cartoon is his third]

I'm talking about that machine!

[He gestures to the TV itself, looking equal parts amazed and utterly bewildered.]

[He blinks and looks at the TV for a moment, before it clicks.]

Oh! You've never heard of TV before? They're great! I don't really know how it works but it's this machine that can let you watch shows, or, I guess plays, you probably don't know what a show is right, to this screen and you can watch it! Either live or prerecorded! It's probably one of the best inventions ever invented!

[Varian is wandering closer as Spongebob talks, careful not to stand in front of him as he examines the box. He wants to actuall open it up to look at the inner workings, but he doesn't want to mess up what Spongebob is doing. Still, though...]

Shows...

[He leans over to look at the screen, eyes widening a bit more as he sees the actual pictures moving on it. He's maybe a little too close.]

So this runs on electricity, and...some sort of image is being projected onto the screen. The sound is coming out through here- [Indicating the speakers.] -and...

[Sorry Spongebob, he got off on a little tangent talking to himself.]

But what's on this....those look like drawings, not actual people.

[ Peregrine's laying in bed, trying to process her own dream. Fought a bear and won.

Oh.

She looks over at Spongebob. ]

...Uhhhhhhhhhhhh. I do not know how to tell you this next part.

[Smile smile.]

Whaddya mean?

[ She turns over in her bed to stare at him. ]

We're gonna rip the bandage off right here. At the very least that first one? Not a dream.

Oh.

[Pause.]

[Oh god he's screaming again, sorry for everyone who's still sleeping.]

[ Wincing very, very much now. ]

Sponge- Uh, Spongebob, uh... [ Grimacing emoji!!! ] Not everyone's...awake...yet...

Bo-o-o-o-obsponge, where were you? I had to get breakfast on my own! Like a poor person!

[This is clearly the worst possible thing that could happen here.]

It was terrible, it- when the lumps did they give us TV.

[Immediately sitting down in the nearest available chair.]

Oh hi Lumpy! Sorry, I really wanted to make breakfast but then I found this!

[He gestures to the TV.]

I didn't realize how much I missed TV until now!

Rodgers Dorm

[ Orpheus, already awake and about to follow Eurydice out the door, turns and gives Spongebob an incredibly heartbroken look. ]

Um. A-about that.

[Unfortunately the news doesn't exactly hit him well.]

[ Under any other circumstances Orpheus might be really impressed by the lungs(?) this man has on him, but as it is this is mostly just tragic. He steps up on the bottom rung of the bunkbed's ladder to give himself a boost and rests a hand on Spongebob's shoulder. ]

Spongebob. Spongebob. Breathe in, please. I know it's hard, but this isn't going to make it better. You're just going to hurt your throat.

[ do sponges have throats ]

[Luckily, unlike Friday, he is a lot quicker to stop screaming. The gentle calming Orpheus gives him snaps him out of his episode and he takes a few deep breaths.]

R-right. Sorry it's a force of habit.

[That... explains things I guess.]

Still that other dream was really weird! It was like Hester predicted my dreams or something!
