WEEK 1

[With the introduction of their showrunner and a brief run through of what they're in for in their time in the Opera House out of the way, the performers are free to explore the first floor of the opera house at their leisure then and for the rest of the week that lies ahead. The double doors leading to the kitchen will be unlocked at 7 am and locked at 10 pm for intermission. Performers are free to prepare meals for themselves and others at any time outside of intermission.

The Merchandise Booth will also be open for business after the first day as some of the performers may find envelopes with their names on it taped to their doors in the morning.

If performers wish to have private conversations with their showrunner, The Balladeer, just step up to the box office and see if he's in.

[The past few days, D-ne has been, mostly, keeping to herself. Interacting with people when it's impossible not to, but not really going out of her way to talk to others. During those times, though, she's possessed something akin to a calm. Yes, shy and stammering, but outwardly not as panicked about the situation as it probably calls for.

Today, she's...not that. More than anything, she's distracted. Throughout mealtime in the dining hall, she keeps having to take moments to just breathe, hand clenched around her spoon. Every so often, she glances at a clipboard in her lap. Every time she does, she tenses even more.

A creeping sense of worry seems to have taken over her, and D-ne spends the day trying to alleviate it. At some point, she digs through the costume shop, looking for something in the accessories very determinedly. Something like a red ribbon? It must be very specific, whatever it is, because she keeps picking a few up, comparing them, and then tossing them to the side, as if in disgust.]

A goddess, eh? I've not heard of one by that name. But that certainly is a magnificent person to be named after! May you live up to it!

You know what, that's actually going to get a low whistle from your doorway, good sir - you are one of those people that makes him kind of jittery just watching you running all the hell over (where in god's name do you get all that energy, that isn't right or natural given that you probably have scurvy or something) but this? This is something he can appreciate, kind of.

He'll be addressing you from there, buddy, just leaning up against the doorframe like it's no one's business.]

[He tugs on the canopy a bit to make sure it'll stay. Once it does he turns to her with a smile.]

It is not! I do have another name, but I have not used that in years. I am the Pirate King! It is as much my title as it is my name, my being!

[The Pirate King wasn't expecting anyone to be playing the piano, so when he comes in to check it out it's accompanied with applause.]

You're a very skilled pianist! I haven't heard piano work quite this exceptional before!

[Don't worry, the Pirate King doesn't do stealthy very well (except when he does) and his footsteps are loud enough to probably get Winslow's attention. Even if they don't, the Pirate King's voice probably will.]

Now, that last one I can do. It's not going to be a culinary masterpiece - I'm a lawyer, not a miracle worker - but if not dying is the main goal? I can manage that much.

[I mean, the stove is weird as hell but it's usable if you're not a complete moron. Ditto for the icebox, which is like a decidedly more streamlined and less-ugly Frigidaire. That one is nice, not even gonna lie to you.

Basically, as far as Billy is concerned, the kitchen is generally not made of as much sheer witchcraft as the laundry room.]

[The ballroom's nice, but the Pirate King doesn't have much use for it. He also can't sit still, which means that he's poking around and looking for people to talk to, but he doesn't interrupt Raoul at first. He watches from the doorway, and when Raoul pauses that's when he approaches.]

I should have expected such excellent swordsmanship from you! Would you care for a round or two?
