Week One

[Yesterday, everyone woke up in a strange place and realized that they'd been kidnapped, and also that everyone else around them may or may not be kinnies? Wow, what a weird escalation of kin drama! Given what some people have seen of Spongebob's freaky arm thing, though, maybe it's not that at all?

Your Assistant Director, Hester, showed off her stuff and immediately had her life threatened by Lumpy Space Princess, who got her life threatened right back. Maybe you should keep that in mind if you decide to pay Hester any more visits! She won't be making another public appearance this week, but as promised, she'll be available for visits and consultation in the Principal's Office during business hours.

If you don't want to chat with Hester, there's always the school to explore! Some of you might also be receiving mysterious coins next to your bedside this week - those must be useful for something, right? There's lots to do, and you all seem like a group who can make your own fun, so enjoy your first week of school!]

[ Janis is... okay, she's coping. Monday is spent getting to know the place, mapping it all out in her head, honestly mostly usual new school stuff. Just, you know, in this one.

But by Tuesday, something's become unbearable. There are some things she can stand, but... a clean uniform? A clean, white uniform, just begging for it? Yeah, no. She spends most of her morning with the paints in the scene shop, her uniform jacket pinned to a piece of plywood, just... going to town on it with paint.

Well, okay, it's not as chaotic as that makes it sound. But if anyone comes in while she's working, she's definitely painting something on there. Several somethings, for any number of threads! Convenient!

By evening, she leaves the jacket somewhere to dry and heads to... well, actually, she busts open the concessions stand and sort of sits on the counter, munching on a Butterfinger and drinking a cool refreshing Sprite(tm). ]

Take my post-Halloween candy sale raiding away, will you?

[Hey Janice, get out of the way, Farrah's coming in... through the window of the concessions stand. She stumbles a bit upon entrance, but manages to catch her balance and stand up straight, brushing her hair back like nothing happened.]

Whoa- check this out. My theory about them trying to make us gain weight might be right! [That doesn't stop her from going for the peanut butter cups, though.]

What, you think they're gonna Hansel and Gretel us?

[ Thinks about our NPC. ]

... Yeah, I could see it.

[Farrah hums thoughtfully, scrunching up her face.]

I was thinking more about breaking us down emotionally.

Oh, psh. That's not even a theory.

[ Takes a bite of Butterfinger. ]

That said, no cure for emotional damage better than raiding free food from school facilities.

That's true. You know-- that's the one part about this that doesn't make sense. [She shakes a bag of cookies at Janis.]

Why all the free snacks? Probably gonna be a huge tab at some point. [THIS DOES NOT STOP HER FROM OPENING THE COOKIES.]

[ Janis shrugs. ]

I like to think it's a personal apology for taking me specifically away from my regularly scheduled Halloween.

Concessions Stand

[The Balladeer is on his way out of the dorm area - probably to the kitchen, there's only so many places to even go - but he stops and backtracks a little once it registers with him what Janis is up to.]

I didn't even know that thing opened up! Anything good back there?

Apparently, it's the one closed-off thing that does.

[ She leans back and looks over the supplies. ]

You like Milky Ways? Or Twix? We got Twix.

[tellthestory]

No idea. I'll take whatever.

[fourbutts]

Twix it is.

[ And she will hand him, depending on whether things are actually branded back here or not, either a full-on Twix Bar or an Off-Brand Twix Bar. ]

Good solid starter candy bar.

[They actually are branded!]

Thanks. [He takes it and, like a weirdo, reads the wrapper before opening it to take a bite.] Cookie and caramel, huh?

[Sounds good, he'll try it.]

Yup. People like caramel, people like cookies, people like chocolate, people like having two things instead of one thing. Twix are great.

Scene shop

[barberic]

[Benjamin isn't in the scene shop for anything so dramatic as what she's doing. Which makes it rather easy for him to forget what it was, when he sees her hard at work.]

Ah... An artist at her craft. That's one clever way to stand out from the rest.

I've never been a fan of uniforms, what can I say? Not a lot in the patch department, but paints? We got paints here.

[barberic]

[He nods. They certainly do got paints here.]

What are you painting on it? Anything in particular?

Well...

[ She frowns, looking at the sleeve of the jacket. ]

It sort of started abstract, but I think it might be a skull now.

[barberic]

[Benjamin tilts his head.]

I can see it, I think. Or perhaps a butterfly?

Maybe. Ooh, or the... skull moth! From Silence of the Lambs.

Scene Shop

[Whatever Elle came into the scene shop to find promptly leaves her mind when she sees the set up Janis has going on with her jacket.]

Oh, that looks so cool!

[ Janis looks over and sort of. Blinks. She's not particularly accustomed to being supported by people with Elle's. Aura. ]

... Really?

[ Its' not sarcastic, mostly just... surprised. ]

Yes! The late-80's aesthetic with a hint of modern in your color choices really brings out the chaotic feel you look like you're going for.

[She is being 100% genuine.]

Huh.

[ She blinks and. Nods approvingly. It's easy to forget that fashion and art are the same thing! ]
