Week One

[Yesterday, everyone woke up in a strange place and realized that they'd been kidnapped, and also that everyone else around them may or may not be kinnies? Wow, what a weird escalation of kin drama! Given what some people have seen of Spongebob's freaky arm thing, though, maybe it's not that at all?

Your Assistant Director, Hester, showed off her stuff and immediately had her life threatened by Lumpy Space Princess, who got her life threatened right back. Maybe you should keep that in mind if you decide to pay Hester any more visits! She won't be making another public appearance this week, but as promised, she'll be available for visits and consultation in the Principal's Office during business hours.

If you don't want to chat with Hester, there's always the school to explore! Some of you might also be receiving mysterious coins next to your bedside this week - those must be useful for something, right? There's lots to do, and you all seem like a group who can make your own fun, so enjoy your first week of school!]

Morning

[Elle is an early riser, but she understands that might not be the case for everyone in the Longacre dorm, so she slips out as quietly as possible. After making a stop at the costume room for some better workout gear, she enters the dance studio. Anyone who bothers to drop in before breakfast will find her running through her yoga routine on "mat" that looks like it was previously part of something from the scene shop.

She's very bendy, but will totally tone it down to an easier level if someone wants to join her!]

Afternoon

[There's a sign posted in the cafeteria that says "Basic clothes alterations--> Costume shop!" in sparkly pink gel pen. Anyone who drops by the costume shop will find Elle threading one of the sewing machines with her usual smile on her face.]

This dress would be lovely, but it's a bit too large for me, I'm afraid. And a little bit more complicated sewing wise for me to do anything without ruining some of the fabric...would you be able to help me?

[Elle gently takes the dress and starts looking it over. As she inspects she mutters to herself. ]

Nice musslin with some polyester for shine...Lining easy enough to move out of the way...

[She smiles at the woman.]

Totally! It's a bit more involved, but I can totally do it.

I'm Elle Woods, by the way! [She shifts the dress over so she can extend a hand for a shake.]

[As promised, she eventually appears-and good god. Yeah, this dress is way big on her. She's very much wasp-waisted naturally, yikes.]

[Elle grabs a seam ruler and a vague sketch she made of a human figure she made while Elizabeth was getting changed.]

This is gong to look so good on your figure when we finish!

Ah, you truly think so? I'm glad-it's one of the few well-done items I've found in this place so far. Everything else has been...a bit short.

[Elle herself has chosen to stay in the short pink skirt of Longacre with a tank top, so she doesn't really get get people who don't like showing skin, but to each their own!]

If you wanted to try something different, I'm sure we could like sew two skirts together or something!

Costume shop

[Benjamin has found some clothes that suit his more usual style, but he's incredibly grateful for the offer of alteration.

He drops by in a loose black linen shirt, "paired" with the tailored purple trousers of his Ambassador house uniform, sheepishly holding a bundle of dark linen in his arms.]

I... well, I seem to have overestimated how well I've taken to my new married life. Could you, [He clears his throat, embarrassed,] repair the seam on the, er, behind of these?

[Elle beams and takes the pants from Benjamin.]

Congrats on getting married! That is so exciting.

[barberic]

[He relaxes, even though she hasn't surveyed the damage yet (the split is not quite dire, but significant, right up the seam in the back).]

Thank you, my dear. It certainly is.

[She's more chipper than Lucy, but she's certainly a beauty in her own right.]

And what about you? Are you married?

[She inspects the rip as he talks, seam pops are so much easier to fix than legit holes so that-

The question catches her off guard. She's been so wrapped up in being, ya know, kidnapped, she'd almost forgotten about Warner.]

Uh, no. There was a guy I had hoped would, you know, pop the question but he...broke up with me instead.

[Elle tries really hard to make it seem like no big deal, this poor guy doesn't need her crying on him, but it's still so fresh, not even a week ago! She manages not to start crying, but her eyes do start to burn.]

[What a wretched-sounding man.

Benjamin's heart aches for her. She may not start crying, but she's obviously still upset. He pulls up a chair next to her and hesitates for a second, before he puts his hand on the back of her chair instead of her back.]

Tsk... [He clucks his tongue sympathetically.] There, there. You're better off without the likes of him, anyway, pet.

[The show of sympathy does make way for a few tears, which she wipes away furiously.]

He wants to go into politics and he said he needs someone more-

Where are you off to so early?

[Cassandra only barely knew most of her dormmates, but one thing was certain: months on the road hadn't dulled her senses. She was still a light sleeper on occasion. And, watching Elle slink out the door was curious enough for her to follow just as silently... Before she speaks up, of course.]

[Being so easy to sneak up on probably isn't good in a murder school, but there isn't much Elle can do about it. She squeals and jumps, throwing the tank top she had grabbed up in the air in the process.]

Holy shit! Warn a girl, won't you!?

[To Cassandra's credit, the squealing doesn't budge her. It's hardly the first time she's gotten the jump on someone like this - heck, not even her friends were exempt from it. Being stealthy was a fantastic combat advantage, one that the quiet Cassandra naturally possessed.]

Hey, I'm not the one that's gonna wake up the whole dorm.

[She reaches up and snatches the tank top from the air, folding it over in her hands and... returning it to Elle.]

And to answer your question, I was going to do some yoga.

[Cassandra makes a face, hands planted on her hips. She's vaguely familiar with the term, and the practice. It's something some people do to relax - 'some people' including Rapunzel and Eugene, but Raps often went for meditation. Apparently, it's supposed to make you relax.

Too bad it's never worked on her.]

So, where were you thinking of doing it?

Yeah! It's great for flexibility and body weight strength training.

[Relaxing too, but for Elle the relaxation comes from the workout.]

Probably the dance studio, if I can find some foam to use as a mat. You want to join me?

Me? Doing yoga? [She barks a short laugh. The mere idea is humorous to her - maybe a little too much.

...Then again, she's not exactly going anywhere. So there's all the time in the world to learn things she would normally avoid. Maybe it would even be... fun?]

Hm, why not? I don't know if it's going to do any good for me, though.

Awesome! Help me find something soft to use as a mat. Do you do any strength or flexibility training already?
