WEEK 1

[With the introduction of their showrunner and a brief run through of what they're in for in their time in the Opera House out of the way, the performers are free to explore the first floor of the opera house at their leisure then and for the rest of the week that lies ahead. The double doors leading to the kitchen will be unlocked at 7 am and locked at 10 pm for intermission. Performers are free to prepare meals for themselves and others at any time outside of intermission.

The Merchandise Booth will also be open for business after the first day as some of the performers may find envelopes with their names on it taped to their doors in the morning.

If performers wish to have private conversations with their showrunner, The Balladeer, just step up to the box office and see if he's in.

I find some comfort in keeping to my regular prayers. And I do enjoy the company - I spoke with very few people other than my daughter, at home.

Yeah. Although, I guess if nothing else they get points for not making it easy? Since I like breathing, I appreciate that.

You think maybe the people who brought us here lifted it from you before we all showed up?

It's not that I don't believe in it, it's that I recognize it isn't a thing. Saying I don't believe in it implies that it's, like, debatable whether or not it exists.

Well, of course it's "a thing." What else would it be?

Not a thing. Because it doesn't exist.

[This kind of work keeps him distracted, honestly. He feels most alive working on his music.

He raises a finger for one moment before turning to the piano. He puts out the beginning bars of a romantic tune.]

[He looks...a tad shaken to say the least. But he reaches for her out of concern.

So... you can really change your hair into all those different colors? That's really amazing! Oh! What color would you want your hair to be?

[Anna watches him cut it, amazed at the green color inside of the fruit. She nods and takes a piece, squeaking when it squishes in her fingers.]

It's soft! [Carefully she tries not to squish it too much, eating the soft green meat before wrinkling her nose.] That tastes awful...

Maybe. [sigh] We do have all this time in here, because we still haven't gotten out...

As do I - breathing is incredibly enjoyable.

But enough of that. What business do you have in the ballroom today, Natalie? Perhaps I could help.

All I know is that there are wires connecting it to some sort of plug in the wall. I have to assume that there is a power source of some kind in the wall, since it stops working when the plug is taken out.

[He just. Popped the plug out for like half a minute to test it out, so, nothing's gone bad.]

I certainly hope not. There are twenty of us, and the amenities here only offer so much.

[dechagny]

Exactly - and in a subtle, kind way.

[For Raoul it's easy. He's...a bit oblivious to how hard it can be for others, though.]

[He's trying. Also oh, okay, back to talking.]

Oh, I see. Is there anything in particular you think we will be in need of?
