week 3
[The past weekend has been a difficult one. With Valjean's murder and D-ne's brutal execution the monotony has been broken and it can be said the show is finally and truly underway.
When the performers emerge from their rooms on Monday morning the decor of the opera house has changed. Not drastically but someone was busy during the night with some redecorating. There are cobwebs draped over nearly everything, some of them with tiny plastic spiders stuck in the cotton webbing, and pumpkins of various sizes on the floor and on the tables. Some of the walls have been adorned with cartoon-ish paper skeletons and scarecrows and in the ballroom a poseable plastic skeleton has been posed at the piano looking ready to play. Someone's even set a bowl of candy on the counter of the merch booth.
But that's not all. There's a light coming from the now open doorway in the lobby that had been previously locked for the past two weeks. This new floor is similarly decorated but why not go have a look and explore for yourself?
Despite their losses, the show must go on after all.

... Which I guess that's what's going on but you don't know that yet, do you?
Unsurprisingly, Seymour is going to spend most of his waking hours in the garden area. Granted, he spends his first five minutes just kind of... tearing up at how beautiful it all is. Sure, he lived in a flower shop, but it wasn't exactly the most attractive place ever, and he's never seen an actual garden in his life. And this was above and beyond anything that he had ever imagined with a garden.
While garden, a song starts to play.]
Tomatoes and sweet peas and green beans It's a dream come true
I wanna just pack my bags and then move here
That's what I'm gonna do, too
The only thing greener than these plants is my thumb
How did I ever see myself as so glum? The opera's now a happy place
I think I've found my happy place
I'm like a British Lady in my garden and my plants agree
(Mm-hmm!)
This is the most amazing building that was ever made
That much we'll all see
I'm the world's greatest gardener things are going so well
How'd I see this as my personal hell? The opera's now a happy place
I think I found my happy
(The opera's now a happy, happy, happy, happy)
Happy, happy, happy, happy place!
[Two people are dead but he's on top of the world right now.]

This place is perfect for you.

Oh hi, Anna. Can you believe this place? I thought the Balladeer was just going to give me some potted plants but this is amazing!
no subject
It is! I've never seen so many different plants before in my life. Outside of books.

[Wait a minute.]
You mentioned wanting to teach you how to garden. Do you still want me to teach you?
no subject
[She nods enthusiastically.]
Yes please!
no subject
[That is such a weird thing to consider but he's doing it.]
Just... just a warning: I've never taught anyone anything before so you might need to tell me what you want out of this.
no subject
[She's starting to as well.]
I'm sure you'll be fine. Where do we start?

I just can't afford to be a botanist. I'm too poor for college and I don't have any connections. I don't mind being a florist in theory, anyway.
no subject
You would be surprised at the kind of scholarships you can get. I mean... I'm going to Yale on a full ride. You seem smart enough, too.
no subject
You... you think I seem smart?

Well, you're enjoying yourself, aren't you?
[ Better that than being sad, I guess. ]
no subject
I'm not even sure I'm awake right now, it feels like everything going on today
[Also the fact that there is a garden in an opera house is here for some reason. That's a little weird.]
no subject
[ Like, showers were weird but made sense. This is pretty out there. ]
You're a gardener, aren't you? I suppose I'll know where to find you from now.
no subject
Technically I'm a florist, but I think I've fallen in love with this place. I've never had a garden of my own, so I'm in heaven right now.
[Besides the death going on.]
no subject
[ The death kind of sucks. The memories, too. ]
You really have a knack for this, you must be an excellent florist.
no subject
You're too nice, Hans. Having an already thriving garden is giving me an advantage.
no subject
That's true. I wonder who was tending to it before? It can't have been the Balladeer, could it?
