WEEK 3
[The past weekend has been a difficult one. With Valjean's murder and D-ne's brutal execution the monotony has been broken and it can be said the show is finally and truly underway.

When the performers emerge from their rooms on Monday morning the decor of the opera house has changed. Not drastically but someone was busy during the night with some redecorating. There are cobwebs draped over nearly everything, some of them with tiny plastic spiders stuck in the cotton webbing, and pumpkins of various sizes on the floor and on the tables. Some of the walls have been adorned with cartoon-ish paper skeletons and scarecrows and in the ballroom a poseable plastic skeleton has been posed at the piano looking ready to play. Someone's even set a bowl of candy on the counter of the merch booth.

But that's not all. There's a light coming from the now open doorway in the lobby that had been previously locked for the past two weeks. This new floor is similarly decorated but why not go have a look and explore for yourself?

Despite their losses, the show must go on after all.

Man... You really love plants, don't you. Come to think of it, why aren't you a botanist?

[She figures it's probably related to the description he gave her of his home, but.]

[Seymour just shrugs.]

I just can't afford to be a botanist. I'm too poor for college and I don't have any connections. I don't mind being a florist in theory, anyway.

[robitussin]

[She pauses for a moment.]

You would be surprised at the kind of scholarships you can get. I mean... I'm going to Yale on a full ride. You seem smart enough, too.

[dontfeedplants]

[If Seymour was drinking something, he'd be doing a spittake right now.]

You... you think I seem smart?

[robitussin]

Don't have a heart attack there, buddy.

[dontfeedplants]

Sorry, it's just that no one has ever referred to me as smart.

[robitussin]

I think you need better friends. If you had any friends before this.

[dontfeedplants]

There's Audrey, but she would never say something like that. It's mostly me who knows that I'm not smart.

[Also Mr. Mushnik but he isn't a friend.]

[robitussin]

Ugh. Don't start with the whole self deprecating thing.

[dontfeedplants]

Sorry? I... I'm not trying to be.

[robitussin]

Your response to me asking you not to be self deprecating shouldn't be to apologize.

[dontfeedplants]

Oh, um, not... sorry?

[That's better, right?]

[robitussin]

[A pause.]

I guess that's going to have to do for now.

[dontfeedplants]

[Hey half a point to Seymour!]

Still, I thought you had to, I dunno, graduate high school in order to get a scholarship?

[robitussin]

...You haven't graduated high school?

[She doesn't mean to sound condescending, she's just honestly surprised.]

[dontfeedplants]

Yeah, we don't have a lot of money so I had to drop out to work at Mr. Mushnik's full time. My grades weren't that good anyway so it wasn't a big deal.

[robitussin]

You could always get a GED, I guess.

[dontfeedplants]

That's one of those things you get when you don't graduate high school, right?

[He might have only heard of it in passing before.]

[robitussin]

Yeah. It's like a diploma, only you don't have to go back to finish it.

[dontfeedplants]

Huh, I guess it can't hurt to get it. Do I need to take any classes?

[robitussin]

I don't really know. I was going to graduate, so I never looked into it.

[dontfeedplants]

Oh, well congratulations then.

[Is that something he should say? Since she kind of can't graduate right now.]

[robitussin]

[Likewise, she looks like she doesn't know how to respond to that.]

Thanks? I think.

[dontfeedplants]

I mean it. [Although he realizes that the issue was not him meaning it. He's trying to save this conversation dang it.] You seem like a really smart person, after all.

[robitussin]

[She is equally bad at taking compliments, so. Subject change!]

If you did go, what would you want to study? Something with plants, right?
