Week Three

[Last week, some shit went down! Salieri's scene went off without a hitch, but the good mood didn't last. The first motive was a bit of a doozy, and yet it didn't even have anything to do with the eventual accidental death of Mumble Happyfeet! At least Sissi was already pretty much dating Death anyway, right? She's probably fine, wherever she is.

This week, new menus have been posted in the cafeteria. But, more importantly, it seems that other new information has emerged. Everyone wakes on Sunday with some new memories - or are they old ones? - floating around in their heads. Maybe there was something to your discussions of time travel after all. Maybe there was someting to the Wizard's knowledge of the future.

Regardless, you're still stuck in here. At least there's some new places to explore this week. Maybe you'll find something helpful.]

Dorms

[Varian isn't holed up in the dorm quite as often as he had been on the first and second weeks, mostly because...well. One probably doesn't need to ask why. Turning his planned memorial into an ofrenda made things a bit easier to bear at least, a reminder of celebration of life as opposed to the recent losses of friends...but he is in there today, no doubt working on more schematics that he's haphazardly pinning to the wall by his bed.

He's on the floor as soon as he hears Maya pounding on it though, mostly because, well...Maya's always showed healthy concern for all of them, but she's never done this. He's opening the door as soon as he's able, immediately looking down the hall when he does.]

Maya? What's wrong, did something happen?

[mayavericks]

[The relief in her eyes is obvious when she spots Varian. There's a brief moment where she considers pulling him into a hug, but... That's too much, even for her. Especially when she has a knife bundled up in her clothes.

Speaking of --]

I found this. I had to make sure everyone was alright.

[She opens the haphazardly bundled jacket. The blood of the knife has smeared against the fabric, but it's still there and still very wet.]

[Oh. Varian's heart skips a beat so hard when he spots the bloody knife that it actually makes his chest hurt. He doesn't mean it in a way at all against Maya, when he happens to stumble back into the doorframe...he just.

Wasn't expecting that.]

Maya...where did you find that?

[She can hardly blame him for the response! Her grip tightens on the edges of the bundle though.]

It came from the vending machine. I wouldn't have thought anything of it but...

[You know. Fresh blood.]

D..do you think someone put it there? You know...like, hiding it?

I don't know. That's why I am here. I wanted to... ensure that everyone was alright.

[alchemistake]

[Makes sense. Of course Maya would be on top of this sort of thing.]

Is there anything I can do? I don't think anything happened here, but...I don't know where everyone else is right now.

[mayavericks]

Just... Stay in the dorm. Keep the door locked. If someone is lurking about, I don't want you getting hurt, Varian.

[alchemistake]

[Varian swallows. That's...a good idea, but-]

What about you, Maya?

[He has no doubt she can protect herself, but...]

[Maya lifts her hand. The rapier clutched in her fist glints a little brighter than before. It looks sharper.]

I'll be fine.

[alchemistake]

[MMMMM...]

...alright. I trust you. But be careful.

[...]

And if anything happens, don't let them get you.

[mayavericks]

They won't. This much I promise, Varian.
