Week One
[Yesterday, everyone woke up in a strange place and realized that they'd been kidnapped, and also that everyone else around them may or may not be kinnies? Wow, what a weird escalation of kin drama! Given what some people have seen of Spongebob's freaky arm thing, though, maybe it's not that at all?
Your Assistant Director, Hester, showed off her stuff and immediately had her life threatened by Lumpy Space Princess, who got her life threatened right back. Maybe you should keep that in mind if you decide to pay Hester any more visits! She won't be making another public appearance this week, but as promised, she'll be available for visits and consultation in the Principal's Office during business hours.
If you don't want to chat with Hester, there's always the school to explore! Some of you might also be receiving mysterious coins next to your bedside this week - those must be useful for something, right? There's lots to do, and you all seem like a group who can make your own fun, so enjoy your first week of school!]
Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | Saturday
(( OOC: This will be the last mod post for this week! Feel free to start submitting regains for any threads that aren't with Hester. Remember, song threads mean an extra coin! This is a peace week, so get all that CR while you can! ))

AUDITIONS
no subject
I'm Farrah. I'm here to audition for the audience.
no subject
is unexpected.
Salieri turns in his chair at the front to look at her, blinking a couple times]
...Very well. I'll critique your capability as a member of the audience at the end of the auditions for performers on stage. [drawled, dry. Two can play this sarcasm game.]
no subject
Yeah, and, if you need any audience reviews, I am an a capella group founder.
no subject
Anyway, that statement does have him raising an eyebrow]
Oh? A founder. My, and how shall I address the founder of such a group? Does Mademoiselle Farrah suffice? Or would you prefer Lady Farrah instead? [there's a slight lilt of amusement to his tone. Yes he did memorize the Yearbook]
no subject
It does have a ring to it, right? I mean, we've got a chick straight up claiming to be a Empress running around. Next to that, it's hard to be extra.

She steps into the choir room cautiously, like she's on eggshells. For all the world, she looks like she's not even sure why she's here.]
So, this is where the auditions are?
no subject
Ah. Mademoiselle Cassandra. They are indeed.
no subject
[Was she pushed in here? Quiet possibly? She seems to always have one foot turning to leave.]
Uh, what was it again that we're auditioning for?
1/2
You were at the meeting, if I recall. [DRYLY]
2/2

[Other things busied her mind like thoughts of escape, and wrestling the shadowy figures of an american president and a fury. She hasn't given much time to going back over the specifics of his play, but she hoped that hadn't been plainly obvious.]
I, uh... How about I just sing something of my own and you decide whether it's worth adding to the play or not?

Ah, please give me a moment, monsieur, I am still trying to tune this.
no subject
Ah, Madame Elisabeth. Please, there's no rush. Take your time.
no subject
[With that, she gets out the sheet paper she found, and takes a deep breath as she finishes.
Guitars were like weird zithers. One hand apart from the other. She can do this. It's just one of the greatest composers of Imperial Vienna. No need to be too nervous.]
I'm going to play Bach for my audition.
[Another deep breath, and she starts to slowly play. It's definitely hesitant, given how she's just not used to playing a guitar. Not quite in rhythm. But she is definitely doing her best to play it, to get her fingers used to being positioned on the neck. The plucking part, at least, is no trouble.]
no subject
That was lovely, Madame Elisabeth.
no subject
[She slowly stands.]
Thank you...I intend to practice more as well, so I hope I shall improve my technique with time, monsieur.

Um... I don't have any idea what to audition for, but if you need any help, I'd be happy to lend a hand.
no subject
Ah, well...if you wish, I have some sheet music for an instrumental and vocal audition here if you'd like to take a look. [he motions to where the sheet music he's laid out earlier.]
However, we could use some help as well. [Salieri pauses, taking a moment to mentally flip through the Yearbook] Mademoiselle...Elsa, isn't it?
no subject
Elsa, yes. I'd be glad to help backstage, perhaps with costumes? But if you need more help on stage, I... could give it a try.
[She's trying to get better at being in front of people, after all. What better way than some sort of performance?]
Do I need to sing one of the songs provided? If not, I have something in mind.
no subject
[as for the other subject, consider his interest piqued.]
As for the audition, you do not at all need to sing the songs provided, if you have something else you wish to sing.

What do you make of them?
no subject
It is, overall, a decent availability of talent, I believe. Not enough for a full opera, of course, but certainly enough for a short performance such as this. We're lacking a bit in instruments, but the fortepiano plus the two strings will make up for it well enough in a smaller space.
[he glances at her out of the corner of his eye, leaning back in his chair a bit and folding his arms over his chest]
And you? What's your opinion?
no subject
I did not expect this level of talent. The majority of those that I've spoken to are untrained in the arts. Yet nearly everyone has shown a substantial level of talent and discipline. They may be unrefined, but the pieces are there.
