[Yesterday, everyone woke up in a strange place and realized that they'd been kidnapped, and also that everyone else around them may or may not be kinnies? Wow, what a weird escalation of kin drama! Given what some people have seen of Spongebob's freaky arm thing, though, maybe it's not that at all?

Your Assistant Director, Hester, showed off her stuff and immediately had her life threatened by Lumpy Space Princess, who got her life threatened right back. Maybe you should keep that in mind if you decide to pay Hester any more visits! She won't be making another public appearance this week, but as promised, she'll be available for visits and consultation in the Principal's Office during business hours.

If you don't want to chat with Hester, there's always the school to explore! Some of you might also be receiving mysterious coins next to your bedside this week - those must be useful for something, right? There's lots to do, and you all seem like a group who can make your own fun, so enjoy your first week of school!]

[Angus' hunger grows, and the cafeteria is his best bet for a decent meal. Unfortunately, he has no kitchen skills, but he can try to find a decent mix of vegetables.

Upon entering the hall of cookery, he sees that someone else had the same idea: an ally!

He walks up to Saliery confidently.] Would you share some of your meal if I offer assistance?

[Please say yes.]

[violentenvies]

[Salieri glances up from his peeling potatoes as he's approached.] Ah--[well, a little help certainly wouldn't hurt]--certainly, monseiur. I would welcome the assistance, in fact.

[he gestures to the yet unpeeled potatoes.] If you wouldn't mind helping me peel these...?

[mcfife]

I can do that.

[It's just using a knife to cut off a thin layer, right? He takes a small knife, pulls a stool over, and takes a moment to find the right grip.]

Like this... [He talks to himself as he slowly cuts off his first peel. It's pretty jagged.]

[Salieri watches him do so, and how jagged the first peel is]

Just take your time. Draw the knife towards you in a smooth arc, and if you gently move the potato away from you at the same time, it's easier. [he should know, he peeled a lot of potatos as a child.]

[Angus nods and does the next peel slowly. It looks a lot closer to how a potato peel should look.]

Ah, it works! Thank you, Salieri. [He's read the yearbook since yesterday.]

[at the address, Salieri arches an eyebrow, but his expression slides into mild amusement]

Not at all, Monseiur McFife. [he has also read the yearbook, probably far too many times honestly] It's no trouble to share a little knowledge to make things easier.

It is good to have many talents. If I am not mistaken, you are a musician, correct?

[Cooking and music aren't related skills, but perhaps there is an actual link between the two that Angus isn't aware of.]

I am indeed. A composer, mainly. [he arches an eyebrow] And you, monsieur?

[mcfife]

I am the prince of Fife.

[You know, the county in Scotland.]

That involves both diplomacy and battle.

I see. [well. He supposes with a name like Angus's, that makes sense]

Would you prefer the address of Monsieur or Your Highness?

[mcfife]

You may call me Your Highness, but my friends call me Angus.

[That's just protocol. Everyone in his universe knows who he is, and that's how everyday conversations go.]

"Monsieur"...are you from the Land of Francs? [That region across the sea, beyond the barbarian lands of Engle-land.]

I...am not. I have been there, naturally, if it is indeed France you are speaking of, however...from there, no.

Do they call themselves France...? [He doesn't remember than name in history class. Then again, this is 1000 years before his time.] I suppose I am. It can be difficult adjusting to a new time period.

[...Is this man not even aware of what Zargothrax was up to? The Land of Francs is pretty close, but if he's never been in the area, he might not be aware. The Balladeer had no clue, and he lives in America.]

You see, I come from the future. I traveled to Earth in the past to stop an evil wizard, but I appear to have been detained after accomplishing my task.

Normally I would question such a statement, but considering the circumstances, you could tell me just about anything and I would believe it, to be quite honest.

I understand, it can be difficult to time travel under normal circumstances. [But everyone knows that with enough power, you can go into an alternate timeline.]

Unfortunately, I do not recognize any of the countries the others have mentioned save for America. And France, in a sense.

It seems that things might differ quite a bit where we're from, then. I don't believe that traveling through time is something one can do where I'm from. [js]

How can it not be possible? It is a known arte throughout the world.

I have never heard of such a thing, except in the nature of supposing the fantastical after several bottles of wine.

[Angus drops the peeled potato into the pot and rests his hand in his hands.]

One last question - what year is it for you? [He has no clue what he's expecting. No answer will make things better.]

Originally from 1992. I traveled to some time around the year 1000. We already had space travel by your time.

Normally I would run around and seek help, but we are unable to even to that.
