[Yesterday, everyone woke up in a strange place and realized that they'd been kidnapped, and also that everyone else around them may or may not be kinnies? Wow, what a weird escalation of kin drama! Given what some people have seen of Spongebob's freaky arm thing, though, maybe it's not that at all?

Your Assistant Director, Hester, showed off her stuff and immediately had her life threatened by Lumpy Space Princess, who got her life threatened right back. Maybe you should keep that in mind if you decide to pay Hester any more visits! She won't be making another public appearance this week, but as promised, she'll be available for visits and consultation in the Principal's Office during business hours.

If you don't want to chat with Hester, there's always the school to explore! Some of you might also be receiving mysterious coins next to your bedside this week - those must be useful for something, right? There's lots to do, and you all seem like a group who can make your own fun, so enjoy your first week of school!]

I'm kindof worried about it though, if I'm honest. What if there are more in there...?

Well...neither of these seem hurt? Maybe it's just one of those things you aren't really supposed to think logically about.

[He sighs, rolling his eyes. Ruddiger at least is hardy, and probably was able to fend for himself for a while...this is just straight up A Lizard and he has no idea what they expect him to even do with it.]

Have you used that machine yet, by the way? Because I'd be...careful, if you do. Don't use a lot of coins in it at once.

No, not yet. I got some coins, though, so I guess I...will at some point.

Some of the stuff I've gotten from it is useful. Most of it, though....is junk.

But it did have Ruddiger in there, so...you might find something of yours at some point.

Sounds like that could be fun. What do you do with it - I mean, do you make anything in particular?

Oh, all sorts of things! Adhesives, cleaning solutions, chemicals for lighting up the place, acid-

The possibilities are almost literally endless, depending on what's needed.

Ha! I mean, we really shouldn't light up the place - [since we are all currently trapped inside] - but I can see the rest of that being pretty useful!

Oh, no, I mean like- literal light. You know! Like those up there?

[He gestures to the flourescents above them.]

We don't have this sort of thing back home, but I'm working on it.

Oh! Those! Man, back when they first invented those, people went nuts over them. I went to a big public exhibition one time - they set up a whole tower of lights to show it off.

[As if Varian minds! He loves hearing people sing, and so far he's found that most of them all can do it. Not just singing for the sake of it either, they can sing pretty damn well.]

Of course! That's the whole point, for me. I'm here to sing stuff and play the guitar, pretty much.

Not gonna lie, it kinda sounds like it'd be a fun job to have. Getting to go from town to town, playing music and singing for the people...not quite as hands on enough for me, but it's good if you like to entertain people. Or royalty, I guess.

I do like singing to people. Never sang to royalty, though - is that some kind of bard thing?

Kinda yeah! Bards are professional storytellers, and a lot of the time they'll be employed by a monarchy to tell the story of their patron.

[He pauses.]

Though...mostly, they want the Bard to praise them and tell stories about all their accomplishments.
