[Well, all escape attempts have failed thus far. None of you have seen the Phantom since his brief appearance on Sunday, or heard from him at all. It looks like, for the time being, you’re all going to be stuck here.

You're free to continue exploring your surroundings to your hearts' content. The only real restriction on your movements is that the kitchen is closed between the hours of 10 pm and 7 am. Better make sure to grab any midnight snacks you may want ahead of time. Also, remember to label any investigation toplevels!

The Merchandise Booth is now open for business as well! The Phantom hasn't deigned to explain how it works, but...well, some of you will start to find mysterious coins in your rooms, and the Booth's got a place to put coins. You'll figure it out.

Should you wish to engage more with your host, you're welcome to drop letters in the box office slot. There's no set way to converse verbally with him, and he's certainly not guaranteed to respond if you just yell at the walls - but that doesn't necessarily mean he isn't listening. Just something to keep in mind.

Two out of a dozen, probably. But we're getting there!

[She giggles and steals a plastic crown from the pile of accessories... before remembering that Angus is much taller than her and pouting.]

You know I can't congratulate you if you don't bend down a little.

[He crouches to be more at face-level.

A hug won't hurt, right?]

[Christine reaches up first to place the crown on Angus' head, giggling a little as it sits askew, but then wraps her arms around him. Sure, she feels a little childish, but it's comforting after these last few days.]

[Oh.

Angus feels for the crown, enjoying the light weight on his head, but soon removes it to admire its appearance. It is rather regal, though made of a flimsy material...but The Hootsman wouldn't have cared, would he?]

Thank you, but...I'm not a king. I couldn't possibly accept this honor even from someone with a heart so true as yours.

It's just a plastic one... it's not like I'm really making you royalty, right? It's just for fun. Besides, I thought you'd look handsome and dignified. Maybe there's someone here you could really impress!

[Come on, Angus. Wear the crown and go flirt.]

Someone to impress, like the Phantom?

[There aren't many people here around his age.]

Oh! Oh, gosh, no, probably not, but there are a few adults here that you could chat to?

I suppose King Richard would be pleased...

[Perhaps he wouldn't be offended.]

[A faint giggle at that.]

It really seems like he loves the attention.

He seems to be the type of King who doesn’t do much himself. [Even Angus' father was more serious than he.] We're fortunate that he doesn't lord his status over us too much.

Oh, it's true. He's kind of... oblivious about some more serious issues. And he didn't think I was capable of becoming a playwright, can you believe that?

[Really! The nerve of some people! Even if Christine is pretty sure he was just being a little innocently ignorant.]

[mcfife]

[Because of her age?]

Well, we don't need to listen to everyone in the world. [He pats her shoulder for good measure.] Perhaps he'll find a reason to help us yet.

[madgiganticfeelings]

I'm sure he will! He's just a little confused, that's all. I'm sure he'll be on our side in no time.

[mcfife]

...Do you want to try running through the passage again? We'll have to attack the Phantom from both sides if we are to trap him.

[He's keeping the crown, thanks.]

[madgiganticfeelings]

Oh, yes! We should keep practicing until we're ready for anything!

[She notices that, and she's very pleased. He looks very noble!]

[mcfife]

[He swishes his cape one last time for her and dashes into the forest of bright clothing like a child in a department store, this time with a crown.]

[And off she goes to follow after her brave and noble prince! Hopefully next time she'll find more regalia for him.]
