[Well, all escape attempts have failed thus far. None of you have seen the Phantom since his brief appearance on Sunday, or heard from him at all. It looks like, for the time being, you’re all going to be stuck here.

You're free to continue exploring your surroundings to your hearts' content. The only real restriction on your movements is that the kitchen is closed between the hours of 10 pm and 7 am. Better make sure to grab any midnight snacks you may want ahead of time. Also, remember to label any investigation toplevels!

The Merchandise Booth is now open for business as well! The Phantom hasn't deigned to explain how it works, but...well, some of you will start to find mysterious coins in your rooms, and the Booth's got a place to put coins. You'll figure it out.

Should you wish to engage more with your host, you're welcome to drop letters in the box office slot. There's no set way to converse verbally with him, and he's certainly not guaranteed to respond if you just yell at the walls - but that doesn't necessarily mean he isn't listening. Just something to keep in mind.

There was a recurring... nightmare, perhaps is the best word, that I had back home. These feathers held a rather prominent place in them.

O-kay.... what kind of dreams? Like, what dream is so bad you have to burn whatever reminds you of it?

Not the dream itself. [He shakes his head, pressing the feather down onto the burner one last time. The remaining vane lights up, burning down to the rachis. It's enough for Ariel.]

And what does it matter to you, Santana? I do not intend malice in asking, I am simply... Curious.

I like having information. Way I see it, murder opera can’t be that different from high school. What I don’t know will hurt me, and I don’t know too much about any of you. So I’m learning.

[ Santana twists her ponytail with her finger, thinking. She doesn't want to say too much and give Ariel the advantage, but she doesn't want to say too little. Otherwise, Ariel won't reciprocate. ]

Mmm. Mostly, I dream about being a star. I'm gonna be famous, you know.

Famous. [His definition of famous involves scholars and philosophers. He doesn't know that Santana fits into that picture, but he's curious all the same.]

For what?

For acting and singing. Being beautiful and glamorous. I mean, what else is there?

Nah. Science might be fun for you, since you all probably still do it by taking a couple hits of opium and ranting about optics or whatever, but where I’m from? It’s boring as shit and for nerds.

There is plenty of room for learning about people within the academic field. There is room for learning about anything really.
