[Well, all escape attempts have failed thus far. None of you have seen the Phantom since his brief appearance on Sunday, or heard from him at all. It looks like, for the time being, you’re all going to be stuck here.

You're free to continue exploring your surroundings to your hearts' content. The only real restriction on your movements is that the kitchen is closed between the hours of 10 pm and 7 am. Better make sure to grab any midnight snacks you may want ahead of time. Also, remember to label any investigation toplevels!

The Merchandise Booth is now open for business as well! The Phantom hasn't deigned to explain how it works, but...well, some of you will start to find mysterious coins in your rooms, and the Booth's got a place to put coins. You'll figure it out.

Should you wish to engage more with your host, you're welcome to drop letters in the box office slot. There's no set way to converse verbally with him, and he's certainly not guaranteed to respond if you just yell at the walls - but that doesn't necessarily mean he isn't listening. Just something to keep in mind.

[Jeremy is in the middle of trying to decide whether or not the terrible hat he picked out is too much, but then he hears Angus and it would be weird if he put it on probably so he's just. Holding it now.]

Oh! You're right, we. We totally skipped over that yesterday, because of all the. You know. Um. [He fidgets with the hat in his hands before holding out his left hand.] I'm Jeremy!

Jeremy. [He repeats it with a charming smile. His hand wraps around Jeremy's, shaking it deftly.]

Ariel. Rest assured, my friend, no one can hold it against you for being so unnerved by these circumstances. I'm only happy to see that tragedy has not befallen you.

Haha, nope! I'm, uh. I'm still here and, uh. In one piece.

[The dark circles under his eyes? Maybe not great! But he's alive and that has to count for something.]

Ariel, huh? That's kind of an unusual name. At least, um. At least where I'm from.

I'm led to believe that many things about me are quite unusual to others. [If nothing else, he seems to take this in good humor.]

You look as if you've slept poorly. Did something keep you awake? Trouble your mind?

[He knows a thing or two about weird dreams!]

No, that's the weird part - I don't remember going to sleep? But I woke up in my bed.

[Which, like. Not unusual, necessarily? He's definitely done "played too many video games and forgot to write an essay" kind of "I don't remember going to sleep," but this seems different.]

So I don't even really know how I slept last night.

[That's... a little concerning. Ariel peers a little closer at the young man.]

Can you even be sure that you slept at all? [His head tilts to the side.] Perhaps you should lay down for a few moments, just to be sure?

I'm not really tired, so I assume I slept. [That could also be the coffee he drank before Christine took it from him.] I dunno, I'll probably take a nap later but not right now.

Well, as long as you are certain. Rest will do your body good, especially when one's mind is reeling. [He motions about the room.] And it certainly is doing just that.

In any case. We need everyone in good health if we are to beat whatever game this is and get back to where we must be.

Have you, like, found anything? I looked around my room a little, but I haven't really investigated anywhere else.

[He'll get into point and click video game mode eventually, but for right now he's 100% just screaming internally all the time. There's! A! Lot! Going! On!]

Nothing of substance yet. [Mr. Scholar here is very much disappointed by this fact.]

Of course, I have been rather disoriented by these surroundings. Lights without fire and machines that shoot water on food. I don't know what to make of it all.

Oh! I guess if you're from somewhere without a lot of technology, you'd be a little confused. Did someone already help you with that stuff? I'm not good at a lot of stuff, but I at least know technology and I can help you out if you want something explained!

[He's a helpful boy, actually.]

Steven the younger attempted to explain the lights -- I won't claim to have expert knowledge of the topic, but I can certainly manage. The machines in the kitchen, though...

[He makes a face. After the Wet Bread debacle with Red, he's a little uneasy with the whole room.]

Oh, yeah uh. Stuff's pretty complicated if you've never seen them before. Michael's moms have this insane coffee machine that's wi-fi enabled and -

[He seems to realize the story is nonsense and stops.]

I mean. Um. Do - I could explain some stuff, if you want?

Why... Fie? [His brows pinch. He makes a face, trying to piece together some sort of picture from the words that Jeremy spews, but comes up empty.]

Please, if you wouldn't mind. Perhaps start with why this one -- [He points to the dishwasher] Soaks the food?

No, uh. No, that's a dishwasher. It's so you don't have to scrub all the dishes by hand once you're done eating. Super, super useful invention honestly.

[You.......... could? Soak food in there though. He guesses.]

[Ariel pauses. he considers Jeremy's words for a long moment. and then he laughs. hard.]

You must take me for quite the fool, then!

No! I. I mean, if you showed me a dishwasher and I didn't, like, know what it was? I would probably, um. Probably try to put food in it too.

[He's not laughing at you, Jeremy. It's fine.]
