[Well, all escape attempts have failed thus far. None of you have seen the Phantom since his brief appearance on Sunday, or heard from him at all. It looks like, for the time being, you’re all going to be stuck here.

You're free to continue exploring your surroundings to your hearts' content. The only real restriction on your movements is that the kitchen is closed between the hours of 10 pm and 7 am. Better make sure to grab any midnight snacks you may want ahead of time. Also, remember to label any investigation toplevels!

The Merchandise Booth is now open for business as well! The Phantom hasn't deigned to explain how it works, but...well, some of you will start to find mysterious coins in your rooms, and the Booth's got a place to put coins. You'll figure it out.

Should you wish to engage more with your host, you're welcome to drop letters in the box office slot. There's no set way to converse verbally with him, and he's certainly not guaranteed to respond if you just yell at the walls - but that doesn't necessarily mean he isn't listening. Just something to keep in mind.

I have already searched the storage and costume rooms for my weapon to no avail. The windows have revealed nothing all day. [A pointed glare in the direction of said windows.] How can a planet exist in eternal night?

A planet could easily exist, but life couldn't - at least, not as we know it. [Oh, Star Trek.

...maybe it's not a weapon we need...just the right kind of tool. Did you see any loose rope when you were looking?

...That is true. [He nods to himself.] It would be rather far from a star, not to mention incredible cold.

[The stairs are becoming uncomfortable, so Angus sits up at last.]

I found some in the storage room. Do you have a plan?

Maybe the start of one? [He reaches up to scratch the side of his neck, frowning a little.] Just that if we can't get a gun or a knife...then we can get, or maybe even build something else that does what we need to do.

[He looks up towards the window, considering]

What we need to do is get out of there. If those windows are a way out and aren't just for show, then we need some way to get to the windows. A ladder, or - using that rope to climb.

What if...we swung onto the chandelier, then broke through the glass that way? Then, we could build some sort of stairway or bridge to help the others come down.

Perhaps, but we would have to construct some sort of tower to reach those windows.

[Trebuchets don't sound like a safe way to fly.]

Like a crossbow? If we have the wood and tools to build it, we might be able to break that glass!

Well then. I should take a break from my search and return when I am rested. It is easy to lose track of time when you're indoors.

It gives me an idea of how many are you are from a universe where this is normal. So far, I found that that most of you have never been to space.

Stranger still, Christine comes from a year after 1992, and she did not believe I was speaking the truth at first.

Not that I know about. It'd be big news, if it wasn't somehow covered up. Which means...

Alternate universes. [Now THAT is science-fiction, as opposed to time travel, which, judging by the numbers tattooed on the side of his head, may or may not be actually possible. And yet, here they are.] I wonder if we're all from different ones?
