[Well, all escape attempts have failed thus far. None of you have seen the Phantom since his brief appearance on Sunday, or heard from him at all. It looks like, for the time being, you’re all going to be stuck here.

You're free to continue exploring your surroundings to your hearts' content. The only real restriction on your movements is that the kitchen is closed between the hours of 10 pm and 7 am. Better make sure to grab any midnight snacks you may want ahead of time. Also, remember to label any investigation toplevels!

The Merchandise Booth is now open for business as well! The Phantom hasn't deigned to explain how it works, but...well, some of you will start to find mysterious coins in your rooms, and the Booth's got a place to put coins. You'll figure it out.

Should you wish to engage more with your host, you're welcome to drop letters in the box office slot. There's no set way to converse verbally with him, and he's certainly not guaranteed to respond if you just yell at the walls - but that doesn't necessarily mean he isn't listening. Just something to keep in mind.

Sigyn--! [Angus waves to their new questing companion, only to be immediately interrupted by Dr. Browning in danger. Angus reaches out to grab him by the arm and pull him back.]

[ It's time for Riley to break into a nervous chuckle, sheepishly smiling. ]

Well, it's... None of us can do this on our own. Yeah. I'm sure, if we stick together, more people will follow suit, and...we can get through this, together.

[Sigyn gives a nod, quirking an eyebrow at Stephen]

Are you alright?

No! It just looks like... maybe it's on wrong?

[ oh no here we are in anxiety central ]

[ She smiles. ]

I'm... homeschooled, so. It's really different from what I'm used to.

I'm fine!...you just surprised me. [Okay. Just. Sitting back a foot from the hole, HE'S GOOD, REALLY.]

You didn't bring a light, did you?

[His answer to that is her moving over to the very edge of the panel, testing the edge of it with her feet, and then hoping down. There's a slight yelp from her, but she does land on her feet at least!

At which point she has to gasp when she sees all the mirrors.]

Geez! That nearly gave me a heart attack!

[His shoulders relax with a silent, internal sigh.]

No. You're right. It could be only due to luck that the Phantom of the original story became good. This one might not be the same.

...We come from different universes, after all.

I do not. There are only candles in the storage room.

[He wants both hands to keep him balanced as he descends.]

If someone jumps, another person could drop a candle and match for them to catch.

It felt real. I even tried to chip away at the mortar and it wouldn't budge. I still think there must be a way to get past it, some sort of secret door or something, but I couldn't find it.

[reassuranceandrevolution]

I can go first. [She looks around] Do you think the stair railing would be strong enough to tether the rope to?

I think so. Been a while since I was in Scouts, though. [That seems to explain why he's handing the rope towards Sigyn, or at least he seems to expect it to explain why.] I can go find some candles while you get that secure?

[First lesson....]

You stance! One of the most important parts of battle is how to deflect enemy blows, and to do that, you must ensure you do not fall easily.

[Angus widens his stance, putting one foot in front of the other.]

Now, do you feel as if you can withstand a light blow?

[mcfife]

I know! It's terrifying when you come here by accident!

[He sits on the edge of the hole with his legs dangling over the edge.]

Go on ahead. I'll follow you.

[madgiganticfeelings]

[Christine freezes up beside her, sensing some sort of disturbance even before she starts singing. Whatever happens in the play, it certainly cannot be good, not with words such as that.

Her breath briefly disappears at the conclusion of the tale, as if she was the one falling. Poor Flora, poor Claire...]

That's... they didn't deserve that. Especially after fighting back all the goddesses... to be trapped with them for good? Why does it end like that?

[mcfife]

I'll help tie it.

[He knows some basics of ropes knots, though he is no sailor. He takes one end of the rope and begins securing it to the raising near the trapdoor.]

Right! Even if everyone doesn't abide by the sign-out sheet, we'll still know something's missing. It's good to keep track of everything.

[madgiganticfeelings]

That's what I've been trying to do already, Riley...

[She smiles back and rolls her eyes.]

Shoulda just let me learn the cheers first. Would have been better at cheering people up then. So we'd actually have people to work with.

A...broken sword...? [ She doesn't...really get it...but- ] Did you find that in the costume room, or...?

[Sigyn waits for Angus to secure the rope before positioning herself next to the hole]

How deep is this anyways?

[ As Nana gets more and more into her summary, Riley loses focus on her stretches. Once she begins to sing-- and even dance, well! She has her full attention. How...lovely, honestly. Two girls, on a journey to keep their friendship alive, side by side to seek out a wish...

Like a fist around her heart, Riley feels her chest grow tight. It's just for a moment. But she finds herself remembering a long-ago day in the rain, crying loudly; she finds herself thinking about what felt like an eternity in a hospital room, stubbornly refusing to go home. She...finds herself missing those times.

She's a bit lost, when Nana's hand reaches out to her. Almost automatically, she takes it. Her bright, melodic voice is soft as she stands. ]

It sounds lovely. I wish I could see it.

[mcfife]

Not too deep that you can't land safely. It's more frightening if you aren't expecting it.

[There! He finishes the knot.]

Knock on it loudly, and stand back.

[reassuranceandrevolution]

[Sigyn follows Angus' instructions, making sure to stand well out of the way of any swinging implements]

[Swoop!

[The trapdoor opens, revealing a short drop to a room below. Fortunately, Sigyn can see the floor from here, though it may be daunting to fall that far.]
