WEEK 1

[With the introduction of their showrunner and a brief run through of what they're in for in their time in the Opera House out of the way, the performers are free to explore the first floor of the opera house at their leisure then and for the rest of the week that lies ahead. The double doors leading to the kitchen will be unlocked at 7 am and locked at 10 pm for intermission. Performers are free to prepare meals for themselves and others at any time outside of intermission.

The Merchandise Booth will also be open for business after the first day as some of the performers may find envelopes with their names on it taped to their doors in the morning.

If performers wish to have private conversations with their showrunner, The Balladeer, just step up to the box office and see if he's in.

And so fast to make, too. A child could do this!

That might be the point. It's fast and you don't have to worry about Cook cooking for hours just for one meal.

I was thinking that it could help working parents. It's very hard to work all day and then cook a meal. [Ages past, he'd talk to his factory workers about what they needed. He does wonder where they all ended up.]

Like farm work hard? Wait, in all the books I read the mothers would stay home and cook for the children. They don't do that anymore?

Often, the income a woman can provide helps to keep the children fed at all. Besides, not all families have both parents living.

Oh... I see... That sounds awful. Is there at least someone there to watch over the children when the mothers work?

[France sounds awful now.]

It depends. Often, the older children will watch over their siblings, until they are old enough to work.

[I mean the book is called Les Miserables]

That doesn't sound any better than not being watched. I know that as a kid I was all over the place. I can't imagine my sister watching over me without getting mad.

[He chuckles.]

Good practice for a Queen, then. But doubtless your family has servants for such things.

[She goes quiet, not sure how to respond to that.]

We had two servants. My parents dismissed the rest. They never told me why. Such a huge castle and all we had were Kay and Gerda. Oh, and Cook. My sister stayed in her room all the time, and she didn't have the same tutors I did.

[He sobers immediately as she does, realizing that this must be a sensitive topic. What a strange thing for a royal family to do.]

Did you see much of your parents?

I saw them every day. Mother and I would do all sorts of things together.

[She smiles sadly at that.]

They passed away three years ago.

I'm very sorry, Princess.

No, it's alright. I've had time to grieve. I miss them, but I can't get stuck being sad.

[Someone needs to be positive.]

That's a fine attitude to have. They must have been good people.

They were... they were always kind to everyone. My mother and I spent as much time together as we could.

[breakingbread]

That must have been difficult for a queen. She must have loved you very much.

I know she did. I know she loved Elsa, too.
