WEEK 1

[With the introduction of their showrunner and a brief run through of what they're in for in their time in the Opera House out of the way, the performers are free to explore the first floor of the opera house at their leisure then and for the rest of the week that lies ahead. The double doors leading to the kitchen will be unlocked at 7 am and locked at 10 pm for intermission. Performers are free to prepare meals for themselves and others at any time outside of intermission.

The Merchandise Booth will also be open for business after the first day as some of the performers may find envelopes with their names on it taped to their doors in the morning.

If performers wish to have private conversations with their showrunner, The Balladeer, just step up to the box office and see if he's in.

Enjoy your week, everyone.]

[Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday]

[ooc: This is the last mod post for the week for us! Feel free to start depositing coins in the merch booth if any of your threads have reached that length, so long as they're not with the Balladeer. Remember, song threads mean double coins! There will be no murder this first week so gain all the CR you can while it lasts, darlings.]

It's heated it up a lot.

[See, it's steaming. Don't burn your mouths on the treacherous hot pocket cheese, you two.]
sunshineprincess: (♠ It's been fun but now)

[personal profile] sunshineprincess 2016-10-18 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[She takes her half and very carefully takes a bite. Hmm... She perks up with a big smile.]

This is amazing! It's like a hot sandwich!
breakingbread: (bread dad is disappoint)

[personal profile] breakingbread 2016-10-19 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Valjean takes a bite of his own half, and...um. Hm. Maybe this is a taste teenagers enjoy.]

And so fast to make, too. A child could do this!
sunshineprincess: (♥ Before we learn how to fly)

[personal profile] sunshineprincess 2016-10-19 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[Anna can be easy to please.]

That might be the point. It's fast and you don't have to worry about Cook cooking for hours just for one meal.
breakingbread: (bread dad outside)

[personal profile] breakingbread 2016-10-20 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[worry about Cook cooking, jesus Anna check your privilege]

I was thinking that it could help working parents. It's very hard to work all day and then cook a meal. [Ages past, he'd talk to his factory workers about what they needed. He does wonder where they all ended up.]
sunshineprincess: (♥ Go see the world)

[personal profile] sunshineprincess 2016-10-20 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[It's not her fault she was born a princess and has a lack of brain-to-mouth filter sometimes.]

Like farm work hard? Wait, in all the books I read the mothers would stay home and cook for the children. They don't do that anymore?
breakingbread: (bread dad is disappoint)

[personal profile] breakingbread 2016-10-21 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Often, the income a woman can provide helps to keep the children fed at all. Besides, not all families have both parents living.

[Or present, @that-fuckface-who-ditched-Fantine, whose name Valjean does not know and thus I am spared from googling it]
sunshineprincess: (♥ It's just a matter of time)

[personal profile] sunshineprincess 2016-10-21 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh... I see... That sounds awful. Is there at least someone there to watch over the children when the mothers work?

[France sounds awful now.]
breakingbread: (bread dad is disappoint)

[personal profile] breakingbread 2016-10-23 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
It depends. Often, the older children will watch over their siblings, until they are old enough to work.

[I mean the book is called Les Miserables]
sunshineprincess: (♥ Before we learn how to fly)

[personal profile] sunshineprincess 2016-10-23 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
That doesn't sound any better than not being watched. I know that as a kid I was all over the place. I can't imagine my sister watching over me without getting mad.

[personal profile] breakingbread 2016-10-24 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[He chuckles.]

Good practice for a Queen, then. But doubtless your family has servants for such things.
sunshineprincess: (♣ Oh oh oh oh)

[personal profile] sunshineprincess 2016-10-24 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[She goes quiet, not sure how to respond to that.]

We had two servants. My parents dismissed the rest. They never told me why. Such a huge castle and all we had were Kay and Gerda. Oh, and Cook. My sister stayed in her room all the time, and she didn't have the same tutors I did.
breakingbread: (bread dad wonders about you)

[personal profile] breakingbread 2016-10-25 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
[He sobers immediately as she does, realizing that this must be a sensitive topic. What a strange thing for a royal family to do.]

Did you see much of your parents?
sunshineprincess: (♠ Of the night)

[personal profile] sunshineprincess 2016-10-25 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
I saw them every day. Mother and I would do all sorts of things together.

[She smiles sadly at that.]

They passed away three years ago.
breakingbread: (bread dad bread sad)

[personal profile] breakingbread 2016-10-27 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh.]

I'm very sorry, Princess.
sunshineprincess: (♠ And hit the road)

[personal profile] sunshineprincess 2016-10-27 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
No, it's alright. I've had time to grieve. I miss them, but I can't get stuck being sad.

[Someone needs to be positive.]
breakingbread: (bread dad is good)

[personal profile] breakingbread 2016-10-28 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
That's a fine attitude to have. They must have been good people.
sunshineprincess: (♠ Life is way too short)

[personal profile] sunshineprincess 2016-10-28 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
They were... they were always kind to everyone. My mother and I spent as much time together as we could.
breakingbread: (bread dad is good)

[personal profile] breakingbread 2016-10-29 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
That must have been difficult for a queen. She must have loved you very much.
sunshineprincess: (♥ Of the night)

[personal profile] sunshineprincess 2016-10-30 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
I know she did. I know she loved Elsa, too.
