WEEK 1

[With the introduction of their showrunner and a brief run through of what they're in for in their time in the Opera House out of the way, the performers are free to explore the first floor of the opera house at their leisure then and for the rest of the week that lies ahead. The double doors leading to the kitchen will be unlocked at 7 am and locked at 10 pm for intermission. Performers are free to prepare meals for themselves and others at any time outside of intermission.

The Merchandise Booth will also be open for business after the first day as some of the performers may find envelopes with their names on it taped to their doors in the morning.

If performers wish to have private conversations with their showrunner, The Balladeer, just step up to the box office and see if he's in.

Enjoy your week, everyone.]

[Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday]

[ooc: This is the last mod post for the week for us! Feel free to start depositing coins in the merch booth if any of your threads have reached that length, so long as they're not with the Balladeer. Remember, song threads mean double coins! There will be no murder this first week so gain all the CR you can while it lasts, darlings.]

[....................]

I am the law and the law is not dissuaded by missing dinner.

[jesus christ is this really happening to him]

Nonetheless. They are there. [It occurs to him to make this somewhat-plausibly sound like it's not about Javert and his apparent inability to eat regularly like a normal human.] Perhaps it would do to make a reminder, in case one of the children misses their meal.

That is not a bad idea.

[even if valjean is a bad man]

I will see to that, then.

[jesus javert all he did was acknowledge that you're sort of bad at self-care]

Have you been keeping watch here at night? [Genuine question; he hasn't been making a habit of staying out long after intermission begins. Part wariness, part not really having anything to do at that hour.]

[javert nods slowly.]

Someone needs to keep vigilante. Intermission seems as good a time as any for people to strike.
breakingbread: (bread dad is disappoint)

I agree. I hope everyone is locking their doors at night, but anyone out late would be a likely target.

[Javert is going to interpret this as him plotting a murder, he knows, but he really is glad the man's on patrol. Valjean knows better than anyone how dedicated the Inspector is to keeping order.]

Have a good evening then, Inspector. And do get some rest at some point - you cannot keep watch if you exhaust yourself.

[weirdest words hes ever spoken]

Good evening.
breakingbread: (bread dad is good)

[That is...shocking. Valjean hesitates for a moment, as if unsure how to respond, before nodding courteously and walking away.

(He is just going back to his dressing room, for the record.)]
