week 1
[With the introduction of their showrunner and a brief run through of what they're in for in their time in the Opera House out of the way, the performers are free to explore the first floor of the opera house at their leisure then and for the rest of the week that lies ahead. The double doors leading to the kitchen will be unlocked at 7 am and locked at 10 pm for intermission. Performers are free to prepare meals for themselves and others at any time outside of intermission.
The Merchandise Booth will also be open for business after the first day as some of the performers may find envelopes with their names on it taped to their doors in the morning.
If performers wish to have private conversations with their showrunner, The Balladeer, just step up to the box office and see if he's in.
Enjoy your week, everyone.]
[ooc: This is the last mod post for the week for us! Feel free to start depositing coins in the merch booth if any of your threads have reached that length, so long as they're not with the Balladeer. Remember, song threads mean double coins! There will be no murder this first week so gain all the CR you can while it lasts, darlings.]

Were you....friends?

[At least he can try to have a sense of humor about this. There's little sense trying to hide it when their captors are so free with their personal information - in fact, what does she know already?]
Have you read our profiles in the playbill?
no subject
[She should probably read it agai--
Oh.
Oh.
She looks back up at him, a new light of understanding in her eyes.]
Then...you're a recidivist?
no subject
If continuing to break parole counts, I suppose.
no subject
Parole...so...
...
You...didn't go to jail for murder, did you?
no subject
No, no. I went to prison for stealing bread.
no subject
...
[Human justice is even more messed up than she thought.]
And...for breaking parole on...stealing bread...

[It doesn't seem like this is something he greatly enjoys talking about, shockingly. But...well, he's never really discussed it with anyone before, for fear of capture. Perhaps it will do him some good to speak to people other than God.
...besides, Javert will tell anyone who asks anyway.]
It's likely they'll simply kill me, when the Inspector and I return. I am a fugitive from justice as well, now. But at my age, a quick death would be better than a slow one in prison.

[Its obvious that Astarte's judging, but its not against Valjean. Do humans just...look for any excuse to kill people?]
no subject
Anyway, he will do nothing to me until we can return to Paris.
no subject
[Oh!]
Do you know Raoul? He's from Paris as well.
[If so, that makes her job of figuring out his year easier!]
no subject
[He has got money, granted, but you don't make a spectacle of yourself in his position.]
