WEEK 1

[With the introduction of their showrunner and a brief run through of what they're in for in their time in the Opera House out of the way, the performers are free to explore the first floor of the opera house at their leisure then and for the rest of the week that lies ahead. The double doors leading to the kitchen will be unlocked at 7 am and locked at 10 pm for intermission. Performers are free to prepare meals for themselves and others at any time outside of intermission.

The Merchandise Booth will also be open for business after the first day as some of the performers may find envelopes with their names on it taped to their doors in the morning.

If performers wish to have private conversations with their showrunner, The Balladeer, just step up to the box office and see if he's in.

Yes! [Her voice squeaks.] How about something simple like tamagoyaki? I know how to make that!

Alright! Show me and I'll follow your lead.

[Hime takes a deep breath and starts taking things out.] Okay, so she uses eggs, soya sauce, sugar... Wait, do we have the right pan?

[She can start trying to find that!]

Maybe? There are a lot of pans here, what am I looking for?

A tamagoyaki pan is usually a rectangle. It would look really weird in a round one.

A rectangular pan, huh? Hmm...

[WE WILL ASSUME, FOR SAKE OF ARGUMENT, THAT SUCH A PAN EXISTS HERE or at least something that would work for our poor animes]

Right. So first you beat some eggs in a bowl with chopsticks or a fork. Or I guess whatever we have here. I forget how many eggs you need, but it was, like, four or five...

Probably a fork, going by the style.

[She frowns.]

Does the exact number of eggs matter very much?

I don't think so? But this isn't very hard.

Alright! I'm not sure I could handle really hard stuff yet anyway.

You must have had servants, too, right?

Yeah, but imps are... kind of....

[She makes an "ehhhh" face.]

Uh... Not as helpful as fairies?

Definitely not. Food mostly just... showed up, you know? If they managed to get it all the way to me.

I couldn't cook for myself at first, either. A friend on Earth taught me some things. It was always important to her.

That sounds nice. What was your friend like? Besides liking cooking.

Really caring, even to strangers. Or even enemies! She just wanted people to share their happiness together. Everyone did.

She sounds nice. No one like that ends up where I come from.

Oh... I guess not. It must be terrible. I mean, that sounds stupid, that's what it's for, to be terrible, right?

It's meant to be the most terrible place, yeah. Some people say its' more about what you make of it, but... they're not locked away in Satan's castle.

And you've always been there? Even being trapped in this place must be better than that! That's horrifying.

Yeah, it... kind of is? But at least at home I was really well-guarded. I wanted to escape, but this isn't quite... what I had in mind.
