week 1
[With the introduction of their showrunner and a brief run through of what they're in for in their time in the Opera House out of the way, the performers are free to explore the first floor of the opera house at their leisure then and for the rest of the week that lies ahead. The double doors leading to the kitchen will be unlocked at 7 am and locked at 10 pm for intermission. Performers are free to prepare meals for themselves and others at any time outside of intermission.
The Merchandise Booth will also be open for business after the first day as some of the performers may find envelopes with their names on it taped to their doors in the morning.
If performers wish to have private conversations with their showrunner, The Balladeer, just step up to the box office and see if he's in.
Enjoy your week, everyone.]
[ooc: This is the last mod post for the week for us! Feel free to start depositing coins in the merch booth if any of your threads have reached that length, so long as they're not with the Balladeer. Remember, song threads mean double coins! There will be no murder this first week so gain all the CR you can while it lasts, darlings.]

Truly, she is a leader...

[Before she knows it, she's singing.]
In cold dark forests
When I was alone,
She took me in and wrapped me
Under the cloak of darkness
To the circle she took me
To the broken windows of a forgotten past
As broken as...
[She stops, faltering, looking over at the King nervously, before taking a breath and continuing. Broken as what? It's not important.]
A once-proud ruin
Now a mausoleum
a cemetery of a glorious past...
Its there she took me,
and there she gave me new life
Its there I learned
My True Name...
"Astarte, Astarte
That shall be your name now
Forget your false mortal past
Your future is now Eden.
Astarte, Astarte,
In your breast I feel
The beating heart of a sovereign.
And I, aaah,
I shall be mother to you now."

You have a lovely singing voice! And such a tale... It sounds as though you have had a very difficult life.
[...the pirate king is not good at this, but he's attempting.]

Thinking you're a human when you're not, growing up...but, things are better now. I understand who I am now.

[There's a subtle change in how she stands as she speaks this. Taller. Defiant, perhaps.]

Indeed you are! I did not mean to offend with my question; I shall not ask again!

All right...?
