WEEK 1

[With the introduction of their showrunner and a brief run through of what they're in for in their time in the Opera House out of the way, the performers are free to explore the first floor of the opera house at their leisure then and for the rest of the week that lies ahead. The double doors leading to the kitchen will be unlocked at 7 am and locked at 10 pm for intermission. Performers are free to prepare meals for themselves and others at any time outside of intermission.

The Merchandise Booth will also be open for business after the first day as some of the performers may find envelopes with their names on it taped to their doors in the morning.

If performers wish to have private conversations with their showrunner, The Balladeer, just step up to the box office and see if he's in.

[She nods and gets up, looking for what she hopes is a kettle. It's a different material than what she's used to. She knows the sink has water and figures out which one is cold just by the colors on the knob.]

G-Gimme a moment, okay?

[Now comes the fun part. Turning the thing that burnt her fingers on again... Good. Now to put the kettle on.] I hope this is how it works...

Yes, that's...that's right.

[The least she can do is help Anna not set herself on fire.]

So how long do we have to wait? What's this little knobby thing on the front?

[The kettles she knows don't have a whistle on them.]

Oh, there...that's the whistle. When it sounds...it means the water's boiled.

[That is so ingenious!]

Right. Now where is the tea... [She opens the cupboards and takes a box out. With confusion she takes a peek in.] Tea leaves in little bags?

That's right.

[Slowly, she goes to stand.]

They last longer than loose leaves and flowers. They don't always taste as good, though.

[She nods and reads the box.]

Earl Grey. Have you had that before?

Mm, once or twice. Its all right.
