WEEK 1

[With the introduction of their showrunner and a brief run through of what they're in for in their time in the Opera House out of the way, the performers are free to explore the first floor of the opera house at their leisure then and for the rest of the week that lies ahead. The double doors leading to the kitchen will be unlocked at 7 am and locked at 10 pm for intermission. Performers are free to prepare meals for themselves and others at any time outside of intermission.

The Merchandise Booth will also be open for business after the first day as some of the performers may find envelopes with their names on it taped to their doors in the morning.

If performers wish to have private conversations with their showrunner, The Balladeer, just step up to the box office and see if he's in.

"It's part of a new opera based on the story Faust. I hope everyone hears it one day."]

So you're not just a composer? You're going to write an entire play?

[She looks amazed at that. He's so talented!]

[Miiiight be a good thing you don't know about Faust.

He beams, humble. "Only adapting a story. I think it deserves to be a musical."]

I didn't know you could do that with stories. I thought that opera was written just because someone wanted people to sing instead of talk.

[Like a regular play. Is a musical like an opera?]

[You got the hang of it. More writing.

"Isn't that more pleasing? Hearing a story with song instead of just words?"]

Yeah! It'd make a lot of stories more interesting.

[Some of the ones she's read for lessons were really hard to get through...]

"That's what I want. Bring stories to new people."]

[She claps her hands together and nods.]

Is there any way I can help?

[Wow...no one has ever asked for his help like that...he needs to think on this.

Moments later he writes out: "Can you sing?"]

Yeah! I think everyone here can! Even that Balladeer guy. He's... actually a really good singer.

[Were only people who could sing in this place?]

[Now that she mentioned it...

"Even I could sing. I guess I should write a part for everyone."]

[That sounds like something everyone might like!]

That sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Should we keep it a surprise?

[He nods fervently.

"May lift their spirits when they need it."]

[Such a huge surprise! She's an excitable person, but this is a secret she is going to keep until it's ready!]

I hope it does. We'll need it if we say here any longer.

[Solemn bob of the head.

"Prefer it be a celebration than to mark time."]

A celebration? [Oh, there is a thing to celebrate in the future.]

How about if we make it till the end without anyone dying, we can surprise everyone with it then.

[Did they think people would die?

Nonetheless, Winslow nods slowly.

"A good finale. For hard times past."]

[Anna looks very excited with the idea.]
