Week Five

[Last week, you had your very first minor body pileup! Granted, the Balladeer's death was entirely unrelated to anything, but at least he died as he lived - getting completely fucked up in some kind of carnival-themed hellscape. Only two days later, another terrible accident took Rina and Varian both from you. It's just been one of those weeks, huh? At least you got to add both of their corpses to your weird growing collection!

Again, you'll wake up this morning with another new snippet of memory. You'll also find that the stairs in the lobby are no longer blocked. You can only access one part of the second floor, but it seems like there's some neat stuff up there!

Outside, a few things seem to have changed. For one, the weather has turned - it'll be overcast this week, with periodic rain and even scattered thunderstorms. For another, the bushes around that rock out by the football field have bloomed. That's nice.

[Elle gently knocks on the door. She's only tried weed a couple of times herself, but there was that one guy who had too many edibles and locked himself in his dorm screaming her freshman year, so she does want to check in.

Also she has a plate of cookies They're pre-packaged, but still.]

Hey, guys. How're we feeling?

Like a fuckin' hot mess. [She's laying on the floor beside Spongebob, taking up more room than she has any right to.]

So, normal.

[Spongebob is flipping through an art book very slowly. Staring at each of the picture in a trance.]

...Do we have... food?

[Elle hands him a cookie.]

[He practically shoves it in his mouth and eats it like a crazed child.]

... You're the... [Spongebob desperately tries to keep his thoughts working to complete this sentence.] ...best

[Elle sits down next to where Spongebob is laying.]

Do you even have anything like weed where you're from?

[He giggles.]

Seaweed.

[He laughs some more.]

[ Peregrine brought food! ...Mostly some of those pies from the vending machine, but, you know. Some food. Still, she looks at Elle like she's a savior from on high. ]

Hungry? Why am I so hungry? [ was this MAYBE a bad idea when they're rationing food? EHHHH... ]

Yeah, weed does that to you. Have a cookie. [She holds one out for Peregrine to take.]

[ She fumbles for it, quite literally. ]

Elle... Elle, you're the best. You're so nice.

[She pretty much places the cookie in Peregrine's hand.]

Aw, thank you! You're pretty awesome too!

No I mean it you’re like…always helpful and sunny and bright and… [ She keeps trying to talk but now the cookie’s in her mouth and she’s forgotten anything else exists. ]

[ Janis, very quietly, slightly in awe: ]

I'm dating Maya and Peregrine. What the fuck.

[Elle hands her a cookie.]

You're a lucky gal. They're pretty great.

They are! And they actually mean it! What the heck?

[ Busies herself eating cookie. ]

You're also pretty great. Which is weird because my least favorite person is also a lot like you, but I don't think you'd ruin my life.

Thank you! I hope I've never ruined anyone's lives before. That would be terrible.

[Unless they were, like, an asshole or something.]

I mean, I wouldn't mind ruining the Wizard's life.

I should not. I've eaten so much already today.

[She says, while reaching for a cookie.]

Aw, I hope I get to meet her someday!

[Cassandra, over here, is finally managing to sit up. Her eyes wide as dinner plates. Very harshly, she whispers:]

Elle? Elle! Over here!

Elle smiles and goes to sit next to Cassandra. The second hand high is starting to affect her, but she doesn't really mind.]

Cookie?

[She gestures with little... flappy hands.]
