We Only Have Tomorrow

[True to his word, on 6pm Thursday Spongebob has the party at the library set up and ready to go! It's filled with cute handmade decorations, snacks, and cobbled together games! Even with all the help he accepted, it's very clear that this was a passion project for Spongebob.

Taped around the library is a set of rules, and frankly there were a Lot of rule fliers around the library.]

RULES
1. Bring your own food and games! The more fun the better!
2. Stay as long as you want! We can make it a sleepover!
3. ABSOLUTELY NO MURDERING
4. Have fun! 💗💗💗💗💗

[Luckily for those who are aware of the cartoon, the party doesn't seem nearly as micromanaged as it could have been mostly because this party is more in a desperate attempt to keep everyone alive than anything else so have as much fun as you can before tomorrow!]

Oh I can show you my capabilities right now! I'm up for it!

[He is practically bouncing with childlike eagerness.]

Oh. Well... If you insist?

[She's already looking around for an empty part of the library. You know. Plenty of room to move and not hurt anyone else.]

[Spongebob jumps in excitement as they find a quiet place to spar.]

Ok, I must warn you though; I've been training my whole life!

[And he's just... gonna try a karate chop.]

Hiya!

[To be honest, Maya is a little less experienced with direct hand to hand. She might be at a disadvantage here! For that reason, she takes an almost started step backward, before dropping to the ground and attempting to sweep his feet out from underneath him.]

[Maya sweeps the feet from under Spongebob. Just as he's about to fall to the floor he catches himself with his hands.

And he... definately pulled himself into a near perfect hand stand. In less than a moment he goes to kick her while still upside down.]

[mayavericks]

[Maya Tendo is not easily surprised. Yet the perfect fluidity in which Spongebob pulls himself up, and then flops back down certainly triggers something. It certainly gives him enough time to connect.

Sense takes her after a moment, and she reaches out to get a grip on Spongebob's leg. She'll try to flip him over and get him pinned. Unfortunately she's not thinking about those detachable limbs.]

[Good news! His leg doesn't come off!

Bad news? It stretching a whole lot. Like a freakish amount.]

[mayavericks]

[Well, that's enough to not only get her to stop, but also make her clamber off?]

Spongebob-san? Are you alright?

[employeeoftheyear]

[He smiles innocently as he gets back on his feet.]

I'm doing fine! Don't tell me you lost your nerve already!

[mayavericks]

Of course not.

[Maya also returns to her feet. Her expression is certainly much more wary as she approaches Spongebob. She feigns a punch to the face, before lifting her knee up to catch him in the stomach.]

[The punch connects with a loud squeak! and he collapses to the ground.

He is deathly still.]

[mayavericks]

[Maya is still for a moment. Then, panic rushes in --]

Spongebob? Spongebob, are you okay?

[She's kneeling down beside him!]

[employeeoftheyear]

[Maya will notice, as she's kneeling by him, that his mouth moves a little, and he makes a small sound. It's not unlike he's holding in a laugh.

And then, suddenly, he karate chops her on the head.]

[mayavericks]

[Maya doesn't have nearly enough time to react. The hand flies toward her head, and there's a brief moment of panic. With enough force, he could certainly do damage -- dangerous levels. She winces on instinct alone and...

Oh.

Well. That wasn't bad.

Still, being the actress that she is, she flops back dramatically, crumpling just as Spongebob had before her.]

[Spongebob gets up as he sees Maya collapse and goes to grab her, equally dramatically.]

Nooo, I can't believe I broke my own rules! May Neptune have mercy on my soul!

[mayavericks]

[Maya blinks open her eyes and...

Boops his nose.]

Got you.

[employeeoftheyear]

[He pauses in shock.

And then he laughs, pulling Maya into a hug.]

You're a really good fighter, Maya!

[mayavericks]

[Okay... Okay. They're hugging and she. Doesn't hate it.

She might even hug back]

As are you. Consider me very impressed.
