We Only Have Tomorrow

[True to his word, on 6pm Thursday Spongebob has the party at the library set up and ready to go! It's filled with cute handmade decorations, snacks, and cobbled together games! Even with all the help he accepted, it's very clear that this was a passion project for Spongebob.

Taped around the library is a set of rules, and frankly there were a Lot of rule fliers around the library.]

RULES
1. Bring your own food and games! The more fun the better!
2. Stay as long as you want! We can make it a sleepover!
3. ABSOLUTELY NO MURDERING
4. Have fun! 💗💗💗💗💗

[Luckily for those who are aware of the cartoon, the party doesn't seem nearly as micromanaged as it could have been ~~mostly because this party is more in a desperate attempt to keep everyone alive than anything else~~ so have as much fun as you can before tomorrow!]

No, shut up. [ She rolls her eyes. ] I'm not camera shy. I'm just hangin' the deer skin 'cause I wanna finally get it finished tanning.

Ah yes, the deer skin that she is tanning while trapped in a school building.

I can't just let it go to waste!

I mean, for the record, you totally could and no one would blame you.

It's misuse of perfectly good deer! For the record, just the skin? Already a waste. You could do so many things— d'you know I've had to experiment with other tanning solutions, instead of just use the deer's brain? That's how it's supposed to be done.

[ Janis misses. A beat? But just the one. ]

... I mean, are you sure that isn't in the school lunches?

[ She breathes. ]

But while we're here, do you want to tell the kids at home how you do tan a deer in a school-slash-prison?

[ Peregrine grins. ]

Okay, so, this is after you do the fleshing— get all the fleshy bits, the membrane and stuff off. You soak it in water, for about...a day or two? Enough to get all the hair out— that's if you're goin' for leather that you can work with, if you want the fur still on you gotta be a bit more careful. If you're not usin' the animal brains, then you've got to work with some homemade solutions, and you know, really just grating a bar of soap can work, but there's a bunch of different ways...

[ and then i got too tired of explaining and she continues, talking about the multiple times you need to layer the tanning solution on the hide and then soak it, rinse lather repeat etc etc ]
