Week Three

[Last week, some shit went down! Salieri's scene went off without a hitch, but the good mood didn't last. The first motive was a bit of a doozy, and yet it didn't even have anything to do with the eventual accidental death of Mumble Happyfeet! At least Sissi was already pretty much dating Death anyway, right? She's probably fine, wherever she is.

This week, new menus have been posted in the cafeteria. But, more importantly, it seems that other new information has emerged. Everyone wakes on Sunday with some new memories - or are they old ones? - floating around in their heads. Maybe there was something to your discussions of time travel after all. Maybe there was someting to the Wizard's knowledge of the future.

Regardless, you're still stuck in here. At least there's some new places to explore this week. Maybe you'll find something helpful.]

Wow. Have you gotten to see a lot of them? I don't live anywhere near a theater, so I've only really seen one.

Oh, definitely! Whitetail's small? But, like, there's a theater and a drive-in, and like, there's Netflix, and Hulu, and all that.

I guess it makes sense that there'd be more movie theaters if there are more movies being made. Do you need your own projector to watch them at home, though?

[ He hasn't really looked at the TV cart or put two and two together with regards to that or the computer screens just yet. ]

Either way, that sounds like it must be a lot of fun.

No, it's... You know the computers? Things with screens like that, basically— you can use those to watch movies if you've got the right programs on them.

There must be a lot you can do, with computers. I haven't really tried using them much before now? I was sort of worried about breaking one.

[ She cracks a relieved smile, glad she doesn't have to explain anymore. ]

They're sturdy! ...Mostly. Sometimes they can just...randomly have an error, but usually that's something in the machine not anything you did. ...I think, at least. My mom told me that when I had to take my laptop in for repairs, once.

[ ...it's possible Kathy Wells was just trying to be nice... ]

It's kind of incredible that there are machines that are complicated enough to... make mistakes? That aren't just something in their machinery getting stuck like a gear or a lever or something, though.

Huh. I guess so. Technology's always been just something I've grown up with? Like it keeps getting leaps and bounds better, but...it's normal for me, to think about them having bugs or making mistakes.

It already kind of felt like I was living in a different world than the one I grew up in back home sometimes? When it comes to how fast technology moves. Cars and electricity and factories spreading everywhere. I can't imagine how it must be for you. You said you're, what? Seventy years past my time? As much as it makes sense to look at it that way, when our worlds are different.

...Even if it's unbelievable, it'd be cool if you could see it sometime. At least the movie theaters.

I'd love to! Maybe after all of this is over, we could find a way to visit each other, even if it's just for a little while. Lord Discord says he doesn't want to be an "interdimensional taxi service," and I wouldn't want to take advantage of him and his power like that if he doesn't feel like it, but there could be some other way to do it.

[ She hadn't thought about that. For a moment, Peregrine frowns, but... ]

We'll find some way. It was possible to get all of us here, right? We just have to keep working hard.

Right! I'm sure between all of us we can figure something out. Now that we know about each other, it should be easier for us to find each other again, whether it's with Lord Discord's help or the gods of my world or some other way, shouldn't it?

You'd ask the gods? You think they'd actually say yes?

I don't really know. Mister Hermes might, and he's the one I think could probably move between worlds the most easily. He likes me, but it would be a big favor to ask. I think it'd be worth it, if it meant not having to say goodbye to all of you forever, though.

A deal with the gods still sounds risky.

It could be. [ Orpheus admits. ] I trust Mister Hermes? But this might be bigger than even him. I don't know. It's something to think about.

...We'll put our heads together. We still have to find a way home, after all.

Right. We can worry about how we'll see each other again once we know more about how we got here and how to get out.
