Week Three

[Last week, some shit went down! Salieri's scene went off without a hitch, but the good mood didn't last. The first motive was a bit of a doozy, and yet it didn't even have anything to do with the eventual accidental death of Mumble Happyfeet! At least Sissi was already pretty much dating Death anyway, right? She's probably fine, wherever she is.

This week, new menus have been posted in the cafeteria. But, more importantly, it seems that other new information has emerged. Everyone wakes on Sunday with some new memories - or are they old ones? - floating around in their heads. Maybe there was something to your discussions of time travel after all. Maybe there was someting to the Wizard's knowledge of the future.

Regardless, you're still stuck in here. At least there's some new places to explore this week. Maybe you'll find something helpful.]

Okay, well... go ahead and bother me. I'm open to being bothered.

[ After a moment of thinking on it... she finally concedes. ]

O-Okay.

[ And then slides out from under the box... her motive photo. ]

It's... about yesterday...

[ Ah. Janis takes a look at it. ]

Where, uh... where is it?

[samefacesyndrome]

It's um... it's my school. Nijigasaki High School.

[ I realize there may be some irony in talking about this with a Mean Girls character. ]

[ Janis whistles. Why can't she go to a cool anime school full of cute girls who like each other... ]

And I assume the wizard was right and you'd prefer it un-vanished.

Mmhm...

[ She hesitates for a moment trying to figure out how much to unload but well... eventually she just decides to unload All of It. ]

When I was a kid... I didn't have any friends. I couldn't express myself at all, and my face never changed so everyone just... thought I was antisocial or weird.

When high school started though... I wanted to change that. I wanted to be able to talk with others and make friends. But I still couldn't do it. And I would have stayed that way if I hadn't met Ai-san.

Soon I started meeting more people. I learned what School Idols were and I thought... maybe I could also be like that? And then on Sunday... I remembered the classmates I struggled to talk to... I was making friends with them. I was finally able to talk to others.

[ At some point she had started to cry without even realizing it and now her words were being interrupted with sobs. ]

I don't want to go back to being alone... I don't want to lose the place where no one thinks I'm weird, where I finally got over my fears...!

[fourbutts]

[ Janis will now die for you. ]

Rina...

[ She sits up, looking at. The box. ]

I'm... not in exactly the same boat, but... I get it, at least a little. I've only had one friend for the last three years. But... the thing about being alone? It takes more than just something like this to stop real friends from sticking with you. But you have all of us now, too, and... if there's a way to stop this, we'll find it.

[samefacesyndrome]

[ She cries a while longer but eventually at Janis' words she's left mostly just sniffling. ]

R...Really? You mean it...?

[fourbutts]

Yeah, I'll go to bat for your school, if it's that important to you. [ Smash cut to Janis Sarkisian, school idol- ] We'll figure something out.

[samefacesyndrome]

[ She sniffles a bit more but wipes her eyes. ]

Thank you... Janis-san.

[ And then lifting the box a little bit... she sticks her hand out from under it. ]

[fourbutts]

[ Holds! That! Hand! ]
