Week Three

[Last week, some shit went down! Salieri's scene went off without a hitch, but the good mood didn't last. The first motive was a bit of a doozy, and yet it didn't even have anything to do with the eventual accidental death of Mumble Happyfeet! At least Sissi was already pretty much dating Death anyway, right? She's probably fine, wherever she is.

This week, new menus have been posted in the cafeteria. But, more importantly, it seems that other new information has emerged. Everyone wakes on Sunday with some new memories - or are they old ones? - floating around in their heads. Maybe there was something to your discussions of time travel after all. Maybe there was someting to the Wizard's knowledge of the future.

Regardless, you're still stuck in here. At least there's some new places to explore this week. Maybe you'll find something helpful.]

Sunday | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday

(( Be sure to submit your memory regains and your AC for this week! Hester's office hours and the merch booth also remain available! ))

A Singspiel is a type of German plays or operas. They're a combination of the two, really, with both spoken word and song alternating. They're often more folk-like in style of music as well.

Oh! I'm modeled after a couple folk singers - pretty different tradition, of course.

[German folk music from the 1700s probably has zero relation to like, Pete Seeger.]

Kinda sounds like my kind of show, honestly. What was it about?

Are you really? [hmm??? how interesting--he tucks that away for later curiosity's sake]

Ah, well, it was entitled Der Rauchfangkehrer, and it was about a chimney sweep and his fianceé attempting to garner a dowry out of the two men wooing a young widow and her stepdaughter, respectively. It's a light comedy, mainly.

Yep! Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger. I know the names don't mean much to you, but they did a lot of folk songs, a lot of protest songs.

[Check out the script in the library sometime, I'll slip you his character description.]

That sounds fun! Gotta love a light comedy.

Indeed. A light comedy keeps people's spirits up, I think, and allows the frivolities of life to become enjoyable, even for a short time.
