Week Three

[Last week, some shit went down! Salieri's scene went off without a hitch, but the good mood didn't last. The first motive was a bit of a doozy, and yet it didn't even have anything to do with the eventual accidental death of Mumble Happyfeet! At least Sissi was already pretty much dating Death anyway, right? She's probably fine, wherever she is.

This week, new menus have been posted in the cafeteria. But, more importantly, it seems that other new information has emerged. Everyone wakes on Sunday with some new memories - or are they old ones? - floating around in their heads. Maybe there was something to your discussions of time travel after all. Maybe there was someting to the Wizard's knowledge of the future.

Regardless, you're still stuck in here. At least there's some new places to explore this week. Maybe you'll find something helpful.]

One of my friend's digital recorders was here. So...it stands to reason they're taking our stuff. Or...stuff of people close to us.

[Salieri's brow creases into a frown at that, and he looks back down at the dagger]

...Indeed. A good friend gave this to me, after my premiere of an opera. [he looks unsettled]

Perhaps it's meant to tie into those pictures that we were given? Some kind of twisted encouragement. [that last part is very dry]

[ Peregrine doesn't respond immediately. She pushes her teeth together tightly. ]

If that's the case? Then it's another reason for the Wizard and everyone associated with him to fucking burn.

[Salieri glances up when Peregrine doesn't respond at first, and then his eyes widen slightly at her fervor]

Ah...I can't say I disagree. [his expression devolves into a frown] Getting this item specifically feels almost like a threat, looking at it under this light.

...The Balladeer got something I recognized. It was definitely a threat, especially considering Tuesday.

That's...[oh, he dislikes this very much] That's terrible. I'm sorry, Mademoiselle Peregrine. [he's mouth twists a bit in disgust] Just when I think the Wizard could not get more depraved, he sinks even lower.

I think he'll dig himself to China at this rate. [ She just. Waves a hand, it's fine, it's fine— ] I'm not gonna act on it, at least.

No, I did not suspect you would. [he huffs] And neither will I, for that matter. I still do not trust his threats to even be completely genuine.

[ Hesitantly: ] Even… What about the photos from last week?

[violentenvies]

[Salieri quiets for a moment at that. Maya had confirmed his own picture as false, but Farrah's picture had come true...]

I...am uncertain. Mine is certainly false; Mademoiselle Maya has confirmed it. However, there is the matter of Farrah's... [hhhh]

...nevertheless, it does cast some doubt on the Wizard's pictures. And if that doubt is what is needed to get through this, then I will do whatever I am able to hold onto it.

[ Farrah's, the thing that's been scaring all of them...

Peregrine frowns in thought, nods as if acknowledging his words but not quite agreeing with them yet. ]

So...could be. Could not. [ She nods again. ] Okay. I'll keep that in mind.

It's not much, I know, however...it's something.

No, it's— it's better than nothing.

[he chuckles a bit at that, wryly] Indeed. It certainly is.
