Week Three

[Last week, some shit went down! Salieri's scene went off without a hitch, but the good mood didn't last. The first motive was a bit of a doozy, and yet it didn't even have anything to do with the eventual accidental death of Mumble Happyfeet! At least Sissi was already pretty much dating Death anyway, right? She's probably fine, wherever she is.

This week, new menus have been posted in the cafeteria. But, more importantly, it seems that other new information has emerged. Everyone wakes on Sunday with some new memories - or are they old ones? - floating around in their heads. Maybe there was something to your discussions of time travel after all. Maybe there was someting to the Wizard's knowledge of the future.

Regardless, you're still stuck in here. At least there's some new places to explore this week. Maybe you'll find something helpful.]

[Now that... throws him for a loop. And he raises an eyebrow, eyeing that envelope with suspicion.]

...Alright, what's the game here?

You opened my last one. I figured once the precedence is set, why not make it a tradition, friend? [drawled, and he arches an eyebrow. His envelope is yet unopened.]

[disharmonizes]

[...fine, he'll grab the envelope.]

Well, I am very bored right now, so, why not.

[violentenvies]

I do appreciate it. [he says, like there isn't a knot of fear in his stomach as he folds his arms over his chest and leans back against the wall]

[disharmonizes]

[He'll just rip it open and slide out the contents, taking a look. What's in here?]

[violentenvies]

[It's a picture of a grand dining room in a palace. Many people, dressed in all kinds of finery, sit at those tables, enjoying dinner and listening to music. At the high table sits a man, listening with eagerness to the music being played]

[disharmonizes]

Well, this looks... fancy. And boring, I'd lose my mind after five minutes if I couldn't turn the whole thing upside down.

[violentenvies]

[eyebrow arch]

That, surprisingly, does not narrow it down.

[but he has such a sinking feeling. He holds out his hand for the photo]

[disharmonizes]

[he'll just hand it over. have at it.]

[violentenvies]

[Salieri accepts it back and takes a look--and immediately goes very still, mouth opening slightly, feeling fear slide down his spine. He sucks in a breath, before shaking his head once, as if to knock sense back into himself, folding the photo in half and tucking it away]

Of course. I should have known.

[disharmonizes]

So fancy, boring, and important, then. Three for three.

[violentenvies]

...so it seems. [he blows out a breath] This Wizard certainly does not interested in pulling any of his punches. [dryly] Or whatever higher power he answers to.

[He crosses his arms, picking a spot on the wall to stare at. Maybe taking the envelope and just, starting to fold it.]

...The cottage is a friend's.

[violentenvies]

[Salieri's attention jerks over to Discord at that, a little surprised. He quickly masks it, though]

Oh?

[disharmonizes]

Her name is Fluttershy. She likes animals and tea and being nice to people, so we're real peas in a pod.

[He continues folding. Just. Paying attention to that.]

[violentenvies]

[that is not what Salieri would say considering the description of this person, but that's not important right now.]

How did you meet her?

[disharmonizes]

Oh, I broke out of my stone prison, tricked her and the rest of her friends, trapped them all in a hedge maze and turned them against each other one by one.

You know, how does anyone meet anyone, really.

I'm honestly not sure what I expected aside from a story such as that one.

So in that case, how did you become friends?

[disharmonizes]

Well, it was her job to try and reform me so I could use my magic to "serve good instead of evil". A rather bold move on Celestia's part, to be honest, considering I could have very easily just manipulated the situation and secured my freedom and get everything I wanted out of it.

...Which I did attempt, of course.

[Of course.]

But I actually did... enjoy spending time with her, despite all that.

[violentenvies]

[it's almost surprising, watching the way that Discord softens when he talks about this person, listening to how he was apparently conquered by the fact that he actually enjoyed her company.

How interesting.]

Did you? [the corner of his mouth quirks, at that] She must be a very special woman.

[disharmonizes]

The most special, I would say. [Fluttershy is the best, do not @ him.] She is the first friend I've ever had, so...

[violentenvies]

[The first friend he's ever had. Salieri can't quite help the way his expression softens slightly. It's...almost sweet, isn't it? ]

Is that so? [he chuckles, a little] That does explain some things about your change in attitude from last week to this one.

[disharmonizes]

[...and suddenly Discord kind of looks as if he's been caught and just. clears his throat.]

I-- W-Well, you know. Sometimes things change.
