Week Three
[Last week, some shit went down! Salieri's scene went off without a hitch, but the good mood didn't last. The first motive was a bit of a doozy, and yet it didn't even have anything to do with the eventual accidental death of Mumble Happyfeet! At least Sissi was already pretty much dating Death anyway, right? She's probably fine, wherever she is.
This week, new menus have been posted in the cafeteria. But, more importantly, it seems that other new information has emerged. Everyone wakes on Sunday with some new memories - or are they old ones? - floating around in their heads. Maybe there was something to your discussions of time travel after all. Maybe there was someting to the Wizard's knowledge of the future.
Regardless, you're still stuck in here. At least there's some new places to explore this week. Maybe you'll find something helpful.]
Sunday | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday
(( Be sure to submit your memory regains and your AC for this week! Hester's office hours and the merch booth also remain available! ))

[ She's not even sure what that actually entails.
She turns back to the screen. ]
This doesn't have poker, but you can play solitaire with little images of the cards. It's programmed to know the game rules...
[ She clicks around with the mouse. ]
And when you win it all goes--
[ As she wins all the cards start cascading down and bouncing all over the place in that old school solitaire animation. She puts up one of her face sheets. ]
Whoosh! Heehee.

[Rina would literally destroy everyone at Poker I'm just saying.
Varian does lean in a little closer though as Rina shows the game off, watching as the cards dart all over the screen. Honestly, he's still having a hard time wrapping his head around technology this advanced, but that doesn't mean he's any less fascinated by it.
He doesn't even realize how hard he's smiling until he feels the way it's making his face sore. He's not sure he's smiled like this in weeks, actually, and he ends up laughing after Rina does.]
Wow! That's really cool, Rina...what other games do you like to play on the computer?
no subject
[ She clicks around, trying to find another game to show off. ]
I didn't have any friends growing up, so I had to learn to play by myself. Video games were good for that.
[ ........ah. ]
no subject
[AH...]
Oh, hey. I didn't have any friends either.
[SAME HAT! Though he says that with a tone that's a lot more amused than it probably should be.]
Guess I can't say that's true now, of course....
no subject
You mean you have friends now?
[ She assumes he means like. Back home. And definitely didn't mean to be rude or anything sdkjghjk ]
no subject
Yeah, I mean...there's Cass and the others, but I've met a lot of people here that I consider my friends, now.
Including you.
no subject
.................... ]
Me?
no subject
I've never met somebody who is interested in all of the same kinds of things that I am. I'd be lying to say we weren't friends!
1/fuck idk man u did this chi

It's getting a lot redder now. To the point that she ends up hiding it in her hands. ]
OK DONE THAT'S ENOUGH
Th-That... makes me r-really happy...!
I'm... really, really, REALLY happy that we're friends...!!
Are you SURE thats enough-
Oh??? Oh cute???
Varian wasn't expecting such a strong reaction because, well...Rina doesn't exactly HAVE those, does she? She's always quiet and relatively blank-faced most of the time, so to see her blush red and look so surprised like that...even Varian doesn't know what to do.
He starts to stammer out a reply, but he can't quite manage anything in time for her to put up one of those papers to hide her face, quickly shucking a hand through his hair as if that will make him remember how to talk better.]
Oh, I- I'm- glad! I'm...really glad to hear that, Rina. I'm happy we're friends too.
no subject
[ She meekly nods. God girl, change the subject come on-- ]
Um... b-back home for me it was just Ai-san... even in high school I still had a hard time talking to my classmates because of my facial expression...
But everyone is r-really nice here... so if you consider me a friend and they do too th-then...
Rina-chan Board says... "Unbelievably Happy!"
no subject
Aw...how could we not be? I don't think there's a single bad bone in your whole body.
[Even if Rina tried to be intimidating...it just wouldn't work, he thinks.]
Your Rina-chan Board is really neat, by the way. How many things can it say?
no subject
[ Just. Change to a regular smiling face, it's okay. ]
L-Like all the things I have trouble saying on my own...
no subject
[He laughs at his own expense, brushing a thumb underneath his nose.
Pause.]
What does, uh. "-chan" mean, by the way?
no subject
[ Right, guess honorifics must seen weird to someone probably not even from the same version of Earth as her uh ]
You know how you use Mister or Miss to refer to people...?
Back in Japan we do a similar thing but with honorifics we put at the end of the name. Like -san which is the most neutral and respectful.
"-chan" is um... more cutesy? You use it a lot for children or people you find endearing or girls you're really close to... but if you don't know the person well it can be a little condescending.
no subject
To that end...he ends up speaking before he realizes what he's actually saying.]
So...would it be okay for me to call you Rina-chan?
[Cutesy fits her to a tee. But not only that, well...he does find her endearing. It just makes sense, right...?]
no subject
Um... w-well, I wouldn't mind but...
[ Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh she should probably... give him some more context h-huh... ]
Boys don't usually... use it with girls their own age, even if they're friends. If they do it's because they were asked to or um...
The girl is.... their girlfriend....
[ Or the girl is an Idol they like but we are taking about Peers here ]
1/2 sorry
]

[LIKE
RINA ARE YOU SURE]
no subject
[ But that's still not a yes or no. ]
no subject
He's going to fucking die
Like...he understands her wanting it to be used for idol reasons, but this? He doesn't know, it feels...
Different, somehow.]
W-well...I'll call you that then, if...that's what you want. Okay...Rina-chan?
no subject
O-Okay, V--
[ ....hm. :|a ]
...Should I call you Varian-kun then...?
