Week Three

[Last week, some shit went down! Salieri's scene went off without a hitch, but the good mood didn't last. The first motive was a bit of a doozy, and yet it didn't even have anything to do with the eventual accidental death of Mumble Happyfeet! At least Sissi was already pretty much dating Death anyway, right? She's probably fine, wherever she is.

This week, new menus have been posted in the cafeteria. But, more importantly, it seems that other new information has emerged. Everyone wakes on Sunday with some new memories - or are they old ones? - floating around in their heads. Maybe there was something to your discussions of time travel after all. Maybe there was someting to the Wizard's knowledge of the future.

Regardless, you're still stuck in here. At least there's some new places to explore this week. Maybe you'll find something helpful.]

Hey, you get something good?

[The Balladeer did! He's got his guitar - actually his, his one from home - and he's sort of idly strumming it as he sits at one of the tables nearby. The woven strap is new, but he still recognized the instrument itself. Thus far, though, he hasn't made much of that difference; the old strap was pretty darn old anyway.]

Thanks. [For believing her-- or for being there? Who knows. Either way, Farrah leans against Varian when he sits beside her.]

I'm glad I'm not alone right now. Or... home right now. Even if I do miss my sister. And even our parents, a little.

[Elle looks up, tears still in her eyes, but the biggest smile on her face.]

I'm so alright! It's Bruiser!

[She points at the dog in her arms, who is enthusiastically licking her chin now.]

[The Balladeer opens his mouth as if to argue, but then realizes - it's Farrah. He knows the sort of thing she's used to.]

I've never had a dream that...vivid and detailed before.

Yep, it's me, just me! [Elle was ready to dodge a hit, not that it would have been successful.]

[The Balladeer isn't registering Benjamin's expression just yet - he sort of honed in on that gun from across the room.]

[Elle entered the computer lab in high spirits. Well, as high as they could be after...all that. Hearing the crying causes her to pause and scan the room. It doesn't take long to find the source.]

Hey, it's okay, what's going on?

[whatyouwant]

Oh. That's not good.

[Elle bites her lip.]

You remembered something too?

[brokeforgood]

I remembered something, alright.

You-- remember my picture? [She had laid it out for everyone to see at the trial.] I remembered... what led to that.

Yard Sard

[Benjamin's thoughts are just Head Empty Only Baby right now, and so as he goes over the things on offer, he picks up the bedraggled cat plush and holds it in his hands. On closer inspection, it looks like its rattiness is purposeful, like it was made that way, not loved into being that way.

Johanna, one year old and full of laughter and light, would love it to pieces. That alone makes him want to hold onto it, at least for as long as she's frozen that age, in his mind.]

What kind of parts are you looking for? I found something in the machine, some kind of... I don't know what it is. Let me get it for you.

[He goes back to his own pile and comes back with an Old-Timey Radio: A radio with a retro exterior but state-of-the-art technology inside. Unfortunately, it still doesn't work..]

Cafeteria

[Benjamin will say nothing about the bottle of wine. Maya is a responsible girl, she can choose how she wishes to dispose of it.

But he does point out the meat pie to her.]

You got one of those too, did you?

[His eyes sparkle in awe.]

Really? This show looks really good!

[employeeoftheyear]

[He... certainly doesn't look happy at that question!]

Well The Wizard does seem smart enough that he could make something like that...

[Given his giant face robot thing.]

Right? I don't know why all schools don't teach like this!

[Time to learn the wonders of technology!]

[Maya is quick to shake her head, even as she tucks her head down against Farrah's head.]

You don't -- [A beat.] You don't suck. And stabbing anyone is too far.

But as long as you are here, you are not there. Which means we can protect you. And we will.

I would not say that I know her. Just her...

[She blinks...]

Ah. Never mind. Forget it.

Well, it's... Like what Hester said. It's far too small in here for any of that.

[At first, Maya looks a little perplexed. After a moment, though --]

Oh, of course. You wouldn't be familiar with them, would you?

[Well that's... a lot. Maya listens patiently, maybe a little surprised at... all of that. American schools sure are wild. Kind of like the animal kingdom.]

Well. If she was cruel to you, then I can only imagine that she deserved every bit of what she received.
