Week Two
[Last week, no murder happened! Instead, a lot of students started work on Salieri's school play, which sounds pretty cool even though it's gonna be short, several people destroyed Bigfoot and got a few mysterious clues, and Orpheus started a fire in the kitchen! All in all, not a bad first week!
Though some people might have gone to talk to Hester, she hasn't made any more public announcements. There's some new papers posted up around the cafeteria, but it looks like it's just your upcoming lunch schedule. Seems like nothing's driving you towards Rule Five except, perhaps, all of the kidnapping and how criminally boring some of you are finding the school. Maybe the Balladeer is right, and you really can just wait this out? Only time will tell!]
Sunday | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday
(( No new locations this week, since y'all haven't paid in blood! Hester's office hours are still open, as are regains! Make sure to complete your first activity check by Tuesday! ))

I can see why you get commissioned by Emperors! I was really moved by it.

I hope... one day I could also...
[ But then she stops herself from saying more, trailing off without finish the thought. ]
no subject
I beg your pardon, Mademoiselle Rina, I didn't catch the end of that. You could also...?
no subject
Oh... I was just... um...
I was just thinking that um... I hope I could one day... also perform something on stage... and connect w-with an audience......
no subject
Oh? I didn't realize you had an interest in performance.
no subject
[ She nods, keeping her head down. ]
Before coming here I was even... thinking of joining the school idol club at my school... though that yearbook thing says I'm already in it...

School Idols though are teenage girls who aren't professionals but they make clubs with their friends and put on their own concerts, usually with music they write themselves and handmade costumes. Sometimes they even compete with groups from other schools in country wide competitions or get invited to perform on a professional stage.
[ She fidgets a little, feeling like she's said too much. Salieri's a real composer working on operas, and she gets flustered thinking about how she must sound explaining what is essentially kids putting on shows for other kids. ]
I-It's not as impressive as what professionals can do though...
no subject
On the contrary, I think it sounds very impressive. It seems like a very effective way to practice not only performance skills, but also composition and many areas of production. In fact, I would congratulate anyone on their initiative for such a thing.
And you'd like to be a part of such a club?
no subject
Mmhm. There was uh... um...
[ She pauses, collecting her thoughts, before continuing. ]
Before I arrived here, I heard one of the members singing on the school roof. But she wasn't like... putting on a concert or performance. She was just singing what was in her heart.
[ She was uh, as they say, having a "musical number". ]
It really made an impact on me. I could feel her passion for what she loved so strongly it was like I could see a stage and fire surrounding her really vividly even though there was none.
I thought it might be nice... if I could connect with others and express myself like that...
no subject
...music and performing indeed have a way of connecting us to one another in ways we don't expect. I myself am of the opinion that it can do so in a way that nothing else, not even spoke word, can.
So if your wish is to connect to others and express yourself, there certainly is no better way than music. I think your goal is a very respectable, understandable one, Mademoiselle Rina.
no subject
...You really think so? [ And then she's looking back down. ] Th...Thank you...
[ But as reassuring as it is to hear someone say that, especially someone like Salieri, she still... feels unsure. ]
But I... I don't know if I can though...
[ And then before he can ask she taps her own cheek, indicating her own face. ]
Because of... this.
no subject
"This?"
[he's...not entirely sure what she means]
no subject
[ She shifts on her feet. ]
It doesn't... change much.
no subject
Ah, I see. [hm...]
...well, in that case, I suppose it would be a matter of finding the right roles for you. I'm not entirely sure how it works in these Idol Clubs, however in opera, there are certain roles that are more static. Regal roles, especially--Queens and Goddesses. That sort of thing.
no subject
[ She seems genuinely impressed from her tone, even if her face is still the same. ]
no subject
[he pauses to consider, a moment]
So...are you a singer also, then?
