Week One

[Yesterday, everyone woke up in a strange place and realized that they'd been kidnapped, and also that everyone else around them may or may not be kinnies? Wow, what a weird escalation of kin drama! Given what some people have seen of Spongebob's freaky arm thing, though, maybe it's not that at all?

Your Assistant Director, Hester, showed off her stuff and immediately had her life threatened by Lumpy Space Princess, who got her life threatened right back. Maybe you should keep that in mind if you decide to pay Hester any more visits! She won't be making another public appearance this week, but as promised, she'll be available for visits and consultation in the Principal's Office during business hours.

If you don't want to chat with Hester, there's always the school to explore! Some of you might also be receiving mysterious coins next to your bedside this week - those must be useful for something, right? There's lots to do, and you all seem like a group who can make your own fun, so enjoy your first week of school!]

[Benjamin looks from the lady, to the pile of clothes.]

I'm not certain they're quite my style, my lady.

[Said with a drop of humor, but nothing mean intended, as he heads to the men's side of the racks and starts sifting through.]

[She does a double-take when she realizes who's behind her.]

Oh...!

[She smiles.]

Ah, do forgive me, then. I'm sure we'd both look off in...some of these.

[Bringing out this. Pity, the top looks nice...]

[barberic]

[He bows politely, with a smile of his own.

And then, when he sees what she's pulled out, immediately looks down at the more reasonable offerings on the men's side, both mortified and flustered. A laugh bubbles out of him, almost falsetto, quickly cut off.]

I'm not certain anyone would look decent in something like that.

Now this- [From his rack he pulls out ...Something, alright.] I think I might not look half bad in this.

[Obviously joking. No man in his right mind would make an ass out of himself by, well, making a lion out of himself.]

Oh--

[She starts laughing at that.]

Oh dear! That must get very hot after awhile! Real lions probably don't mind it so much...

[barberic]

That's probably a good thing, since real lions can't take it off. I'm getting hot just holding it.

[He puts it back on the rack, which makes the rack wobble slightly under the weight.]

[She smiles at this.]

Indeed! Perhaps I can aid in finding something, if you'd like? Since we are both looking for something presentable, monsieur.

[barberic]

I would have to be mad to say no. I've come to trust a lady's eye better than my own, in matters of fashion. Although I'm afraid I might not be as skilled at returning the favor.

Well, that's quite all right, monsieur! Let's see what we have here-ah!

[She pulls something out-

This might be a good start, don't you think?

[barberic]

[His eyebrows raise.]

Ooh, that's very smart.

[He reaches out to take the hanger from her, but then pauses right before their hands might touch.]

May I?

[Nod!]

Absolutely! It's all right!

[barberic]

[He nods, then takes it and holds it up against his chest, presenting himself for her approval.]

What do you think? Should I give it a try?

[She looks over the vest, nodding.]

I think so! Though, it might benefit from being paired with neutral pants...

[barberic]

I think few things would benefit from these color trousers...

[He glances down at the garish orchid-purple trousers that fit him smartly but suit him none at all.

He drapes the vest over his arm for the moment, and goes back to the rack.]

What of these, do you think?

[He selects a pair of plain dark brown trousers, holding them up with the hand not holding the vest.]

[Looking them up and down, she nods.]

The colors complement each other perfectly. You will look incredible, I'm sure of it!

[barberic]

[He's satisfied with that answer, and drapes the trousers over his arm as well.

He dare not ask if she wants him to step behind a curtain and try it on, even if there does seem to be "changing areas" here. It would be completely inappropriate, for one.]

I hope for his sake your husband heeds your sartorial advice, my lady. You have a keen eye for it.

[Aah, she blushes at this.]

I hope he will, too, though I must admit he's also quite smart-looking in his military uniforms without my help!

[barberic]

[He smiles, his tone soft.]

Have you not been married long, my lady?

[wanderlusttitania]

Well, I-

[She pauses, but stopped herself, smiling again.]

Not long at all. I was married, went to sleep...and woke up here.

[barberic]

Well... You're not alone in that.

[He finds a plain (if a bit ruffly for his taste) white shirt to pair with the waistcoat and trousers, and adds it to his outfit.]

I had just taken my Lucy on our honeymoon, and then... here I was.
